RIFLES

ARGENTINE Model 1909 Mauser bolt-action rifle # H9607 (7.65x54), mfg. by DWM  in 1910.  Excellent PLUS condition, with 98% intact bluing on barrel and small parts (receiver "in the white" as is proper for these). Has very strong mirror-bright bore.  All-matching numbers, missing cleaning-rod. Walnut stock & handguard has original finish with a few minor compressions and scrapes, and (unfortunately) a recent hairline crack on both sides radiating from the rear of the triggerguard that is untouched and no doubt could easily be repaired. Not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $450.   C&R  SOLD

AUSTRIAN Model 1867 Werndl single-shot rifle (11x42R) mfg. by Steyr in 1869.  Poor to Fair condition, metal "in the white" most some minor external pitting. Lockwork functional, bore is crusty and very dark but lands are distinct and would possibly clean up. Buttstock has original finish with considerable handling-marks and dings from actual use, small crack on right side just forward of hammer. Has unit-markings 47.R. / 4521. on buttplate.  Looks "rode-hard and put away wet",   Includes U.S. Army bringback documentation from Afghanistan.  PHOTOS .  . . $450.  Antique, no FFL required   SOLD

AUSTRIAN Model 1867 Werndl single-shot rifle (11x42R) mfg. by Steyr in 1871.  Poor to Fair condition, metal "in the white" most some minor external pitting. Lockwork functional, bore is crusty and very dark but lands are visible and would possibly clean up, neat-looking spur on trigger-guard. Buttstock has original finish with considerable handling-marks and dings from actual use. Has unit-markings 19R. E. / 4 on buttplate.  Looks "rode-hard and put away wet",   Includes U.S. Army bringback documentation from Afghanistan.  PHOTOS .  . . $495.  Antique, no FFL required   SOLD

BRITISH Mark II* Snider-Enfield three-band musket (.577 Cartridge) mfg. by Enfield in 1862 as a P53, later converted to the Snider breechloading system.  Good condition with very little external finish, entirely functional with smooth and tight lockwork and a surprisingly strong mirror-bright bore.  Original buttstock with 6 //1885-dated FORT WILLIAM ARSENAL cartouche a bit battered but sound and having no cracks or losses. Lacks its cleaning-rod.  PHOTO . . . $750.   Antique, no FFL required

FRENCH Model 1886 M93 Lebel bolt-action infantry rifle # LR70551 (8x50R Lebel) mfg. by Tulle in 1888.  Good condition with 50% or less external finish and virtually none of the usual pitting. Bright and strong bore (possible bulge about 6" from muzzle), fully functional (I would not hesitate to shoot it). No matching numbers except buttstock. Wood has quite a few handling-marks and dings from actual use but is otherwise sound with arsenal-repair at bottom of forend just forward of rear barrel-band.   Includes U.S. Army bringback documentation from Afghanistan. PHOTOS . . . $625.   Antique, no FFL required

Amazingly excellent bright and strong bore, fully functional (I would not hesitate to shoot it). No matching numbers, missing stacking-hook and slider for rear sight. Wood has quite a few handling-marks and dings from actual use but is otherwise sound with small arsenal-repairs on each side of barrel-shank.   Includes U.S. Army bringback documentation from Afghanistan. PHOTOS . . . $675.   Antique, no FFL required

GERMAN Model 98k bolt-action 8mm rifle # 9508 having TWO DEATH-HEAD markings (SS2 above the first, serpent above the second) on left barrel-shank, originally a Gewehr 98 rifle with markings atop receiver scrubbed (as usual), dated December 1938 at bottom of barrel-shank.  A Russian-capture in excellent condition, small parts electropenciled to match receiver by the Russians. Barrel-bands and magazine-floorplate are milled, triggerguard is stamped, Bore is bright and strong, import-marked TG KNOX TN 98K 8MM GERMANY on bottom of barrel. Laminated stock has quite a few handling-marks with a faint eagle over H cartouche on right side and a cupped buttplate.  Authenticity of SS markings guaranteed. PHOTOS . . . $1500.   C&R

PERSIAN Model 98/29 rifle # Y1796 (8x57) mfg. by Brno in 1931. Excellent Plus, essentially unissued, with all-matching numbers. Internally perfect with a mirror-perfect bore, wood is light maple with some deep figure in the grain with some contact-marks and abrasions from palletizing and a couple small inventory-stamps.  PHOTOS  . . . $375.   C&R    SOLD

An original PU sniper

RUSSIAN Model 91/30 SNIPER rifle # LA6661 (7.62x54R) mfg. at Izhevsk in 1944.  An Excellent-PLUS rearsenaled genuine original PU-sniper with close to 100% bluing and a strong bright bore.  All-matching numbers (the scope-mount electro-pencilled with both the rifle and scope numbers, the bolt, magazine-floorplate and buttplate stamped with serial-number lacking letter prefix), scope # 443102 has near-perfect optics and is correct for late Izhevsk snipers,  original scope-number stamped on left side of barrel-shank buffed off before arsenal-refinishing.  Stock is quite nice with that thick reddish-shellac that tends to chip and peel, a couple minor scrapes in finish from handling rather than use, else as perfect and example as one could expect to encounter. Includes original web-sling, leather end-caps and canvas cover for the scope. Has old Century import-marking lightly-stamped on right side of barrel.  PHOTOS  . . . $1275.  C&R    SOLD

A Russian SVT-40 sniper

RUSSIAN Model SVT-40 semiautomatic Tokarev rifle # ZHA5849 (8x57mm) mfg. by Tula in 1941.  Excellent-PLUS (as rearsenaled) condition with attached original  1943-dated SVT scope with excellent optics and original scope-mount. All numbered parts matching receiver. Bore is excellent and mirror-bright, has AVT-configuration stock. Receiver grooved for scope, notch for mount filed into top of receiver with numeral 4 stamped above it. Includes correct sling and leather end-caps. Could possibly be authentic, but we are not representing it as such.  A repro SVT-40 sniper would cost at least this much to construct today.  Not import-marked.  PHOTOS . . . $1600.   C&R   SOLD

SWEDISH Model 96B Mauser bolt-action rifle # 498128 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf  in 1922 with straight-bolt and threaded muzzle.  Excellent condition, with 95% original bluing on all parts. Buttstock and handguard are streaked Walnut (likely original) with some small nicks and compressions in the wood from handling and storage, but considerably nicer than is usually seen and quite a handsome rig.  PHOTOS. . $1675. C&R   SOLD

U.S.A. Bedding of metal to wood is so good that it is difficult to remove the action. Walnut furniture is in perfect original condition with nary a dent or scratch. M84 scope # 46922 has one small hair-like spot inside but otherwise has perfect optics.    Complete with CMP paperwork (including documentation that this scope goes with this rifle) but no box.
