BRITISH Enfield No.1 Mk.III* bolt-action rifle # J6291 (.303 British) mfg. by Enfield in 1918 with 1941-dated replacement barrel. Very Good or better condition, with most remaining oil-blacked finish on metal and a mostly bright 4-groove bore. Only nose-cap matches receiver, remaining parts not matching (not even barrel matches receiver). Walnut stock has not been sanded and has the expected scratches and handling marks with wooden plug on right side where unit-disc used to be. PHOTOS . . . $350. C&R
CANADIAN Enfield No.4 Mk.I* bolt-action rifle # 44L0677 (.303 British) mfg. by Long Branch arsenal in 1945. Excellent condition, metal has full finish on all metal parts (turning brown on magazine and other stamped parts). Rear of bolt matches receiver, no other parts numbered. Stock has bold Canadian cartouches (arrow inside C) on bottom of forend and butt, with very few dings and handling-marks. Bore is mirror bright 2-groove type, bolt-head stamped with # 1. CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action rifle # D481 (7x57) mfg. by Loewe in 1895. Excellent-PLUS condition, with 98% original deep bluing on all metal parts. Chilean crest above chamber is a bit weak but clear. All-matching numbers (except cleaning-rod). Bore is exceptional and mirror-bright. Lovely walnut stock having 1895-dated Chilean cartouche, some dings, compressions and handling-marks in the wood from contact with adjacent rifles but has not been sanded, includes original leather sling and brass muzzle-cap. DUTCH Model 1895 No.3 Old Model Mannlicher bolt-action carbine # 7739F (6.5x53R) mfg. by Hembrug in 1906 with long trifoil bayonet and tattered scabbard. Excellent condition, with 90% bluing. All matching serial numbers, bore is strong and mirror-bright. Stock is walnut in near excellent condition with some of the expected dings and handling-marks from actual use. Has LW cartouche on left side and faint HEMBRUG 1909-dated cartouche on right side. Includes cleaning rod. Not import-marked, a much nicer example than is usually encountered. PHOTOS . . . $625. DUTCH Model 1895 No.4 Old Model Mannlicher bolt-action carbine # 586G (6.5x53R) mfg. by Hembrug in 1906 with sling swivels on left side and a shorter handguard. Excellent condition, with 90% bluing. All matching serial numbers, bore is strong and mirror-bright. Stock is tigerstriped walnut and was lightly sanded long ago, so cartouches are weak. FINN Model 28-76 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action military TARGET rifle # 11004 (7.62x54R) with undated barrel. Excellent condition with 90% or better external bluing. Bolt-handle engraved 1004, bore is strong and mirror bright. Has integral aperture front and rear target sights, with lower scope mount. Birch heavy target stock is quite attractive with a few very minor dings, shallow split in stock on right side (does not go all the way through and is unlikely to be a problem), small crack on left side below aperture sight, no other cracks or problems. FINN Model 28-76 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action military TARGET rifle # 11152 (7.62x54R) with undated barrel. Excellent condition with 90% or better external bluing. Bolt-handle engraved 1152, bore is strong and mirror bright. Has integral aperture front and rear target sights, with lower scope mount. Birch heavy target stock is quite attractive with a few very minor dings, has a totally repairable crack at wrist (see photo). Complete and functional, ships in a hard case for protection. FINN Model 38 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action short rifle # G576 (7.35x53 Carcano) mfg. by Terni in 1939 with [SA] Finn marking on left side of barrel-shank. Near Excellent condition with 80% original bluing (fading to brown in a few places). Bore is mirror-bright and quite strong. Stock has never been sanded and has very bold cartouches. Scarce FOLDING BAYONET (which is not SA-marked) has slightly dented scabbard and one grip panel on it looks like a homemade replacement. Not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $525. C&R
FRENCH Model 1874 M80 M14 Gras bolt-action cartridge infantry rifle with bayonet # G60249 (8x50R Lebel) mfg. by St. Ettienne in 1874, rebarreled in 1914 for use in WWI. Excellent condition, most remaining original painted finish remaining on metal parts. All parts have matching serial numbers (except for barrel, which was replaced during rechambering, and bayonet). Rifle is completely functional. Bore is mirror-bright and extremely strong. Stock has very few handling marks, includes correct leather sling and cruciform bayonet with scabbard (both leather frog and right side of stock stamped with number 20, indicating this combination has been together a long time). FRENCH Model 1886 R35 Lebel bolt-action cartridge carbine # GR74638 (8x50R Lebel) mfg. by St. Ettienne in 1890, rebarreled in 1937 by SACM (with N-marked chamber). Near Excellent condition, most remaining original painted finish remaining on metal parts. All matching numbers (unusual for these) and functional, with added thumb-activated safety at tang. Bore is mirror- bright and extremely strong. Stock has dings and scratches from actual use, but also matching action, includes correct leather sling. Not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $875. GERMAN Model G.29/40 bolt-action rifle # 152b (8mm), mfg. by Steyr-Daimler-Puch (factory code 660) in 1940. A rearsenaled Russian-capture in excellent condition, with 100% bluing, all smaller parts electropenciled to match receiver, with an attractive laminated stock with blued cupped buttplate and solid front band. GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 3054L (8x57) mfg. by Steyr-Daimler-Puch (code bnz 44) in 1944 with large letters. Very Good-PLUS condition, an all metal MATCHING 98k carbine with some of the bluing turning brown from age. Bore is excellent and mirror bright, has correct all stamped small parts. Laminated stock is for a Sauer & Son rifle and has small eagle / H cartouche on right side. All metal parts are stamped 3054 (guaranteed original), barrel has WaA623 and bnz/1 in shield proofs, triggerguard and magazine floorplate stamped byf (correct for these). GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 4909 (8mm), a single-rune rifle mfg. under SS control at Mathausen concentration-camp for Steyr-Daimler-Puch in 1943. A Russian-capture import in Excellent condition, 100% reblue with Nazi eagles intact, most parts electropenciled to match number on receiver. The bore very bright with crisp rifling, the early solid walnut buttstock has some handling-marks, with clear cartouches on right side. No cleaning-rod or locking-screws. PHOTO . . . $825. C&R
PAKISTANI Model No.4 Mk.2 Enfield bolt-action rifle # C05062 (.303 British) mfg. by Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) in 1957. Excellent condition, with full oil-blacked finish on the metal. Very little actual wear, all-matching numbers, with a mirror-perfect 5-groove bore and a 1-marked bolt-head. Wood has some handling-marks and storage-dings as well as rack-numbers stamped in it and a reinforcing screw in forend. PHOTOS . . . $425. C&R SOLD
PORTUGUESE Model 1937 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # C19778 (8x57) mfg. by Mauser Oberndorf in 1937. Excellent-PLUS condition with 100% high-gloss bluing, all-matching numbers and bold royal crest above chamber and all Nazi eagles and proofs intact. Metal looks unused, with nice mirror-bright bore. Includes cleaning-rod and worn leather German-style sling. Stock has some heavy contact marks and a small crack on the right side by recoil lug. PORTUGUESE Model 904/39 Mauser-Verguiero bolt-action short rifle # D8219 (8x57) mfg. by DWM in 1904. Very Good condition with all-matching numbers and bold royal crest above chamber. Original (browning) finish with a nice mirror-bright bore, includes cleaning-rod, leather sling and hinged muzzle-cap. Originally chambered in the obsolete 6.5x58 Verguiero cartridge, these rifles were rechambered to 8x57 in Germany just before WWII and have one of the smoothest actions of any military rifle. SWISS Model K-31 Schmidt-Rubin short rifle # 927469 (7.5x55mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1949. Very Good or better condition, with nearly full external bluing, some wear on barrel bands and magazine floorplate from carry. All-matching numbers including magazine. Bore is bright and strong, stock is beech with the usual handling-marks and it retains its soldier's tag, end of stock stamped III 49 beneath buttplate. Includes leather sling and muzzle-cap. U.S.A. Model 1873 Trapdoor falling-block single-shot infantry rifle # 249193 (.45-70 Government) mfg. by Springfield Armory in 1884. Very Good condition, most metal turning brown with some light freckling on barrel bands, breech block and barrel. Has a gorgeous, mirror-bright bore and 5th type Model 1879 buckhorn rear sight. Original military configuration with strong markings (including faint SWP 1883 cartouche on wood). Walnut stock has original finish, circled script P stamped on bottom of wrist, with very minor scrapes and handling-marks, bold G / 64 stamped on right side and modern leather sling. U.S.A. Model 1903 Springfield bolt-action rifle # 996064 (.30-06) mfg. by Springfield Armory in 1918, with a WWII replacement barrel. Very Good condition with 70% gray Parkerizing on all metal. A decent specimen example with mirror-bright 9-44 dated HS (High Standard) 4-groove bore (TE = 3.0, ME = 1.0). U.S.A. Model M1 Garand semiautomatic rifle # 2117019 (.30-06) mfg. by Springfield Armory in October 1943 with SA 10-43 barrel. Excellent PLUS condition with full Parkerized refinish on all metal and having a mirror-bright bore (TE = 6, ME = 2.5) and bright chamber. A field-grade CMP Garand (with documentation) having all correct as-issued Springfield parts (including lock-bar rear sight and uncut op-rod). No doubt a very well done and loving restoration, with all correct parts and a beautiful flawless commercial walnut buttstock and handguards.
