MILITARY LONG ARMS

AUSTRIAN Model 1895 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action carbine # 5494M (8x56R) mfg. by Steyr in 1916. Excellent refurbished condition, with 95%  bluing and a strong and somewhat bright bore. Bolt knob stamped 5494 (matching), remaining stamped numbers do not match (refurb). Wood has straight grain with almost no handling marks. Includes correct blade-up M95 bayonet with scabbard and leather frog in Good condition and olive green USM1 Carbine web sling.  PHOTOS . . . $475.     C&R      SOLD

AUSTRALIAN No.1 Mk.III bolt-action rifle # 75913 (.303 British) mfg. by Lithgow Arsenal in 1917 with top of chamber marked for 4th Military District.   Excellent or better condition with full Parkerized finish on all metal parts. Bolt, rear sight and nose cap are not serialized. Non numbered replacement barrel (dated 1944) is somewhat dark and rough from shooting corrosive ammunition (and not cleaning properly).  However it may "shoot clean" and in any case accuracy is not usually affected. Magazine cut-off missing, buttstock has been sanded, but MA 2/47 cartouche on right side still clearly visible. A very pleasant example.  PHOTOS . . . $675.   C&R   

BRITISH Model No.4 Mk.1* Enfield bolt-action rifle # 70C9218 (.303 British) mfg. by Savage-Stevens in 1944 (undated).   Excellent condition, with 95% or more of the Parkerized finish remaining,  Two-groove bore is mirror-bright and very strong, All numbered parts are matching. Bolt-head is stamped with 1, US PROPERTY marked on receiver, rear sight is the L-shaped peep flip type.  Stock and handguards have a few handling marks.  With undated olive green web sling and pull through stored in the butt-trap.    PHOTOS . . . $850.      C&R    SOLD

CANADIAN Enfield No.4 Mk.1* bolt-action rifle # 85L7275 (.303 British) mfg. by Long Branch arsenal in 1945. Excellent condition, with full original finish on all metal parts and an quite bright bore with a 4-groove barrel. Bolt is matching with 1-marked bolt head. Stock has some handling marks from actual use, arsenal repair at heel, front handguard had a lengthwise crack that has been repaired. Rear sight is the stamped ladder type, includes undated olive green web sling and pull through stored in the butt-trap.  PHOTO . . . $725.    C&R     SOLD

FRENCH Model 1949-56 MAS semiautomatic rifle # G91621 (7.5x54) with APX L806 scope and mount manufactured at St. Etienne in c.1965.  Excellent condition with all Parkerizing intact and very little signs of wear. Has great mirror-bright bore. Includes full compliment of accessories, including three 10-round magazines, bayonet & scabbard, night sights, sling, rubber buttpad, a litany of leather pouches and tools, and leather hard case for the scope and mount (which fits this rifle quite well and looks great).  PHOTO . . . $2,750.      C&R   (no California sales)      

ITALIAN Model 38 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action cavalry carbine with folding bayonet # YD1658 (6.5x52) mfg. by Brescia in 1942 (year 20 of Mussolini).   Excellent condition, with full bluing on all metal, bore is mirror-bright and very strong. Beech stock is numbered YD1658 (matching). Bent-bolt is unnumbered, stock and handguard has fewer than usual handling marks and scratches from actual service use,  Not import marked, includes one en-bloc clip and leather sling. PERSIAN Model 98/29 rifle # R6284 (8x57) mfg. by Brno in 1939 (1317 Anno Hijera). Excellent condition, with all-matching serial numbers. Internally perfect with a mirror-perfect bore.  Wood is walnut with nice grain and a beautiful furniture-type finish.  Some scuffs and contact-marks from transportation and storage, but few signs of actual use. PORTUGUESE Model 937B bolt-action rifle # F13179 (8mm) mfg. by Mauser in 1941, literally a 98k with bold Nazi eagle/swastika markings and bold (and fancy) Portuguese crest above chamber.  Near Excellent condition overall, with 90+% bluing on barreled receiver, rear barrel-band, triggerguard and magazine floorplate browned from contact with sweaty hands. Bore is mirror-bright, eagle / swastikas on left side of receiver and barrel-shank very bold.    Bolt (and all bolt parts except bolt shroud), rear sight, and both barrel-bands are numbered 3179 to match receiver. Bolt release and cleaning rod are numbered 79 (matching receiver).  Buttstock, buttplate, action bolts, triggerguard and magazine floorplate all have various serial numbers.  Includes cleaning-rod and front sight-hood.  Stock has Eagle-H and two WaffenAmps on right side, one eagle holding swastika and WaffenAmp on bottom of grip, with several compressions from bolt knobs of adjacent rifles while in storage. Includes leather 98k sling with buckle. Many rifles in this 98k contract never made it to Portugal, but were pressed into service with the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe during WWII and are sometimes found as "bringbacks" or Russian (and even Norwegian) captures.   PHOTOS . . . $1750.     C&R     SOLD

SOVIET Model 91/30 PU SNIPER Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # TA6256 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Izhevsk in 1943. Excellent arsenal-refurbished condition with 99% or better bluing on all metal parts. ORIGINAL PU sniper, not a reproduction. All-matching STAMPED numbers (only 6256 stamped on magazine floorplate and buttplate), previous scope serial # struck-through on left side of barrel shank. Bore is mirror-bright (has NOT been counterbored at muzzle). Buttstock has a few scuffs and handling marks from transportation and storage. Progress scope dated 1944 with 1966 refurb marking in correct wartime mount. Includes cleaning rod, correct sling and leather lens-caps with fabric cover. SPANISH Model  CETME semiautomatic rifle # E28525 (7.62 NATO) with receiver mfg. by Century Arms built on a Spanish parts kit.  Excellent condition, with nearly-full uniform dark-gray Parkerizing and a gorgeous mirror-bore. Has additional scope rail on to of receiver and very effective muzzle-break. Takes H&K 91 type magazines, and comes with one heavy steel example.  Includes bayonet-lug (usually missing from these), and a correct bayonet (no scabbard) in Very Good condition as well as a olive-green web M1 Carbine sling.  A nice, functional example. SWISS Model K-31 Schmidt-Rubin short rifle # 696220  (7.5x55mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1942 with W+F Bern K-type tall diopter sights installed. All-matching serial numbers including magazine. Excellent-PLUS condition with 99% or better external bluing and a perfect, mirror bore. Wood is walnut with  a glossy refinish and evidence of two Schutzenfest bands having been on forend. SWISS Model K-31 Schmidt-Rubin short rifle # 868794  (7.5x55mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1946. All-matching serial numbers including magazine. Excellent condition with 90% or better external bluing and a perfect, mirror bore. Wood is walnut with  subtle tigerstripe figure and the usual dings and handling marks in the finish.  IV 40 stamped beneath buttplate. U.S.A. Model 1884 Trapdoor Springfield saddle-ring cavalry carbine # 414503 (.45-55) mfg. by Springfield Arsenal in 1888.  Very Good or better condition with most external bluing remaining (some light scattered verdigris on external metal). Bore is extremely bright and very strong.  Sound walnut stock has no visible cartouches.  Very attractive and completely functional, with C-marked rear sight, front sight hood and three-piece cleaning rod in butt-trap.  Not import-marked, very scarce (only the fourth specimen we have ever handled).   PHOTOS . . . $2850.    Antique, no FFL required      SOLD

U.S.A. Model 1898 Krag-Jorgensen bolt-action rifle # 374869 (.30-40 Krag) mfg. by Springfield Armory in February, 1902.  Very Good or so condition complete rig with most bluing on receiver degraded and turning brown (as usual). Bore is extremely strong and bright . Stock has 1902-dated cartouche on left side, includes correct 1902-dated bayonet and scabbard as well as Model 1898 leather sling and hinged brass muzzle cover, three-piece cleaning rod in butt-trap. U.S.A. Model 03-A3 Springfield bolt-action rifle # 3608067 (.30-06), receiver mfg. by Smith-Corona in September 1942 with SC 9-42 barrel.  Excellent condition with 90% Parkerizing on all metal. Bore is mirror-bright and very strong (gauges TE = 3.0, MW = 2.0). Walnut stock has been lightly sanded with clear FJA cartouche on left side and few handling marks. Includes original worn Model 1905 leather sling and front sight protector, pull-through type cleaning kit in butt-trap. U.S.A. Model 03-A4 Springfield bolt-action SNIPER rifle # 3407252 (.30-06) mfg. by Remington in August 1943. Excellent-PLUS condition with 100% green-gray Parkerizing on all metal. A gorgeous example with perfect 3-44 dated RA replacement barrel with 2-groove bore (ME = 0.0, TE = 1.0) and correct staked REDFIELD scope mount with correct original Redfield 330 (aka M-73B1) scope which has perfect optics and leather lens caps. Scant Walnut stock has circled P firing proof at front of grip, boxed RIA / EB cartouche and one scuff on left side otherwise almost zero handling marks. Includes correct web sling and white metal screw-top tube holding pull-through and brush cleaning accessories in butt-trap. U.S.A. Model 1917 bolt-action rifle # 47944 (.30-06) made by Remington in December 1917 with 12-17 dated Remington barrel. Near Excellent condition rig, with nearly full blued (not Parkerized) finish remaining on all external metal. Bore is mirror bright and very strong (TE 2.5, MW 1.0), bottom of bolt stamped W (Winchester) with Eddystone safety.  Walnut buttstock and handguard shows a few dings and scuffs but has original finish and has never been sanded. Completely functional and very high quality for these, with excellent condition 1917-dated Remington bayonet and scabbard and 1917-dated (likely reproduction) Kerr leather sling. U.S.A. Model M1 Garand semiautomatic rifle # 446496 (.30-06) mfg. by Springfield Armory in January 1942.  Excellent condition with full light gray Parkerized finish remaining on all metal. Has replacement barrel stamped HRA 12-51 with relieved SA-marked operating rod, remaining parts (including complete trigger group stamped HRA.  Barrel has bright bore (TE = 3.0, MW = 2.0).  Original military walnut stock has no visible cartouches. U.S.A. Model M1D Garand semiautomatic SNIPER rifle # 1638352 (.30-06)  mfg. by Springfield Armory in June 1943.  Excellent-PLUS condition, with SA 8-52 barrel (throat-erosion 3.0). Has prong-type Hart flash-hider, leather cheek-pad, leather sling, and M10 cleaning-kit in butt-trap. Bedding of metal to wood is so good that it is difficult to remove the action. Boyd walnut furniture is gorgeous with only a few VERY MINOR dents and  scratches.   M84 scope # 8161 has excellent optics, includes olive-green cloth cover for scope. Not import marked with CMP certificate of authenticity PHOTOS . . . $4250 delivered in a 30# hard CMP case (lower USA only)    C&R
