AUSTRIAN Model 1895 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action infantry long-rifle # 9675P (8x50R, *not* rechambered for the 8x56R) mfg. by Steyr in 1915. An original non-rearsenaled long rifle in Very Good condition with 70% or better bluing. Barrel does *not* match receiver (2292H), bolt not numbered at all. BRAZILIAN Model 1908/34 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 2491p (7x57), mfg. by CZ in c.1933. Very Good condition, with 50% or so original bluing (smaller parts turning brown from age). Has very strong Brazilian crest above chamber and other markings are sharp as well. Bore is very bright and strong. Bent bolt matching (without suffix). BRITISH Martini-Enfield Mark I short-lever single-shot rifle (.303 British) mfg. by Enfield in 1879 as a .477-500 and converted to the smokeless .303 round in 1896. Very Good condition with most external finish intact. All original (not a Khyber-pass copy) and functional with a dark but strong bore (has recently had 50 rounds of ball ammo fired through it with no mishaps of FTF). Original stock and handguard sound with original finish and no cracks or splits, many military cartouches on right side. Includes original triangular socket-bayonet in excellent condition, cleaning rod and original leather sling. No import-marks, a nice shootable Martini. PHOTOS . . . $750. Very Good to Excellent condition, with over 90% military finish on barreled receiver, less on smaller parts and magazine. All-matching numbers with a gorgeous mirror 4-groove bore. Includes large square receiver aperture sight but no magazine-cutoff. Walnut stock has been sawed-off at forend with handguard and all barrel bands and nose-cap missing. BRITISH Model No.4 Mk.1 Enfield bolt-action rifle # E13162 (.303 British) mfg. by B.S.A. Shirley in 1942 which has undergone Factory Thorough Repair (FTR) at Fazakerly in 1949 and not issued since. Excellent-PLUS condition, with over 98% military finish, all-matching numbers (magazine stamped on back to match), with a gorgeous mirror 2-groove bore. CANADIAN Model of 1917 bolt-action infantry rifle # 58047 (.30-06) mfg. by Eddystone in October, 1917. Very Good condition with 75% or better blued (not Parkerized) finish on metal and an extremely strong if a bit dark bore. Top of bolt-handle stamped to number receiver. Buttstock has a few dings and scratches, bold Canadian-property cartouche (arrow inside large C) on right side as well as stamped on top of receiver. Also property-marked for the Governor General's Foot Guards (an elite Canadian military unit) on right side. Includes a large (354-page) soft-cover book on the regimental history of the GGFG. CANADIAN Model 1905 bolt-action straight-pull infantry rifle # 15928 (.303 British) mfg. by Ross Rifle Co. in c.1908 with U.S. property-marks. Excellent condition with 100% bluing (likely professionally reblued) on all metal parts and an extremely strong if not too bright bore. Bolt still has case-colors, rifle remains in its original military configuration (most remaining have been sporeterized). Buttstock has its original finish with unit cartouches on the right side. U.S. marked on bottom of stock behind triggerguard with ordnance bomb and serial number (the only place the serial number appears on this or any Ross rifle). CHILEAN Model 1935 Mauser bolt-action Carbiņero carbine # 41 (7mm) mfg. by Mauser in 1935. Very Good condition, with 40% or so fading bluing, receiver bluing a bit "mottled". All matching numbers, has strong Chilean Carbiņero crest above chamber, and lovely Mauser banner atop rear receiver-bridge. INDONESIAN Model 1895 Mannlicher bolt-action carbine # A1226 (.303 British) mfg. by Steyr in 1904 and altered for the .303 round in 1952 (with added muzzle-break and rubber reciol-pad). Very Good condition with 60% mottled metal finish and bold markings. Slightly grainy but strong bore. Matching-numbered bolt, triggerguard numbered 2002 and has some scattered pitting. Buttstock is straight-grained walnut, usual triangular dovetailed patch behind triggerguard. JAPANESE Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action carbine # 11266 (6.5x50), mfg. by Kokura Arsenal in c.1906. Very Good or so condition, with 50% bluing on all parts (much of it turning brown from age), bore is dark but quite strong with counterbored muzzle. All parts mismatched, mum has been defaced with several knife-cuts, bolt has been crudely bent down. No cleaning-rod, stock has scrapes and dings but retains its original finish. Not import-marked. JAPANESE Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action carbine # 0010403 (6.5x50), mfg. by Koishikawa Arsenal in c.1905, a "school" carbine with very bold and beautiful Fukuoka Prefecture Tagawa Middle School cartouche. Very Good or better condition, with 70% bluing on all parts (small parts turning brown from age), bore is dark but quite strong rifling. Bolt (and all bolt parts) numbered 350. Mum has been lightly cancelled with "school" character stamped between it and model designation. No cleaning-rod, stock has only a few of the expected scrapes and dings but retains its original finish. SWEDISH Model 94/14 Mauser bolt-action carbine # 83073 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1916 with bent-bolt. Excellent condition, with 90% original bluing on all parts. Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore, without the usual muzzle-extension. All matching numbers (all parts stamped 073), lovely beech stock looks to have original finish with very few handling-marks. Includes sling-buckle and nice military sling. SWEDISH Model 41 SNIPER rifle # 52684 (6.5x55) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Mauser in 1900. This is not one of the more common 41B snipers, the difference being (a) the bolt is in the white like a regular 96 rifle, but with a bent handle, (b) rear-sight is of the 96 type, (c) the stock-disc is of the two-screw unit-type, and (d) used an AGA m/42 3x65 scope in a Jackenroll upper and lower mount that were numbered but did not ever match the rifle's serial # (see Kehaya & Poyer, The Swedish Mauser Rifle, pages 173-175). Excellent condition, with 90% bluing on receiver and barrel, less on bands, springs, triggerguard and magazine-floorplate from carry. Has a bright and strong bore (disc stamped 6.51/3). All-matching numbers (684), cleaning-rod not numbered. Stock and handguard are walnut with quite a few handling-marks from actual use. 1942-dated AGA 3x65 scope has a three-post reticule and quite decent optics, front lens has chip in edge that cannot be seen when looking through the scope. SWISS Model 1878 Vetterli bolt-action infantry rifle # 153764 (10.4mm Swiss rimfire) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in c.1880. Very Good condition, all-matching numbers (and every part is numbered). All original case-hardened finish a vivid black. Bore is dark but had strong rifling. Wood is walnut and has been lightly sanded, two finger-grooves being cut into forend. U.S.A. Model of 1903 bolt-action infantry rifle # 260644 (.30-06) mfg. by Springfield Arsenal in 1907 with a replacement High Standard barrel made in May 1944. Excellent-PLUS condition with 95% or better blued (not Parkerized) finish on metal and an extremely bright and strong bore. Stock has very few dings and scratches, rectangular cartouches containing RIA EB as well as other such as FJA, RA and ordnance wheel on left side.
