BELGIAN Model 1889/36 short rifle # 73516 (7.65x53mm) converted by Manufacture d'Armes de L'Etat, Liege, in 1936 (but originally produced as a Model 1889 long rifle 1889-1891). Near Excellent condition with most bluing remaining, all-matching numbers INCLUDING flat-handled bolt (which almost never matches), bold stock cartouche dated 1936. Gorgeous mirror-bright and strong bore, missing cleaning rod, some light handling-marks on wood but retains its original finish. An attractive example of a rare and unusual Mauser sub-type. CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # B1306 (7x57) mfg. by Ludwig Loewe in 1895 with 29" barrel and straight-bolt. Excellent-PLUS condition, with 98% or better bluing on all metal. Excellent PLUS bore with very strong rifling and very bright lands & grooves. All matching serial numbers including cleaning-rod and stock. Chilean crest above chamber quite strong. CHILEAN Model 1912 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # D4508 (7x57mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Steyr in 1912. Near Excellent condition, with 90% bluing (less on barrel-bands, receiver "in the white" as is proper) and a strong mirror-bright bore. All serialized parts matching except magazine floorplate. CHILEAN Model 1935 Mauser bolt-action Carbinero carbine # 1989 (7x57mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Mauser in 1935. Near Excellent condition, with 90% bluing (much less on front barrel-band and barrel from exposure to sweaty hands), very strong bright bore and all-matching serial numbers. This has turned-down bolt with carbine rear-sight, strong crest above chamber and Mauser banner on rear of receiver. Wood has a few dings from normal handling, but nothing major and has original finish (faint 1935-dated cartouche on left side of stock), small crack to rear of handguard. CZECH Model vz23a Mauser bolt-action short-rifle # B8908 (8x57) mfg. by CZ in 1923. Excellent-PLUS condition with curved factory address atop chamber. This is a near-pristine example of a very scarce Mauser variant (made for less than one year) with a mirror-bright bore and 99% high-gloss bluing. All matching serial numbers, includes cleaning-rod and front sight protector. Buttstock and handguard has original finish and only a few very light dings and scratches. CZECH Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 9763G (8mm) mfg. by Brno (code dot 45) in 1945. Near Excellent condition, full bluing with some scattered light rust pitting at wood line. Has stamped magazine floorplate and enlarged "winter" triggerguard and non-numbered stamped barrel bands. All numbered parts matching, bore is mirror-bright and very strong. Receiver and barrel have Czech two-tailed rampant lion proofs on left side instead of eagle / swastikas, barrel has Nazi dot / 13 in shield makers mark. GERMAN Model Kar. 88 bolt-action Commission cavalry carbine # 85a (8x57i) mfg. by C.G. Haenel in 1890. Excellent overall condition, with 90% thinning and browning bluing (receiver was in the white, as is proper). All matching serial numbers, unit mark L.G.875. on right side of barrel-band. Bolt has spoon-type handle. Excellent mirror-bright bore (stamped with S). Buttstock has clear cartouches and is quite attractive with subtle tigerstripe figure (has never been refinished) with a few old stains. Includes two (2) of the scarce charger clips. GERMAN Model W625C bolt-action single-shot training rifle # 172566 (.22 Long Rifle) mfg. by Berlin-Suhler-Waffen in mid 1930's. Near Excellent condition, with 85% or better bluing, bore is bright and strong. Bolt has various 2-digit stamped numbers. All markings are extremely clear, FLUSS - STAHL (fluid steel) KRUPP - ESSEN (famous maker of artillery pieces) on barrel. Stock has a few scratches and a few handling marks, no sling swivels present. Not import-marked. Scarce, this company was for several years the rarest manufacturer of 98k rifles. PHOTOS . . . $725. C&R
GERMAN Standard Modell Mauser bolt-action rifle # B40464 (8x57mm), mfg. by Mauser in circa 1932 with MAUSER BANNER atop chamber. Near Excellent condition with full original bluing. Looks like all-matching serial numbers with correct straight bolt but root of bolt handle has been renumbered 0464 to match and no other bolt parts are matching (so "Bubba" was hard at work). Bore is a bit dark but has strong lands and grooves, receiver has commercial BUGN proofs, missing its cleaning rod. Finger-groove walnut stock retains its original finish and is quite nice with some light handling marks but no cracks. Not import marked, a decent example of a very scarce precursor of the 98k. Large Weimar eagles with folded wings intact on left side of barrel and receiver, three bold Nazi eagle/swastika proofs on right side of receiver. Has all-milled parts, the bore is mirror bright and very strong. Metal parts have 8945 electropenciled, laminated buttstock has flat buttplate. Includes repro cleaning rod. Not import marked. Greek crest atop chamber is extremely clear. The bore is quite strong but not very bright. Bolt numbered B2630 (not matching), only other numbered part is the left side of the stock Z1924, matching). POLISH Model wz29 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 36410Z (8x57mm), undated, mfg. by Warsaw between the wars with straight-bolt, arsenal-refurbished by Spain during their civil war in the mid-1930's. Excellent condition, with 95% or better bluing on all parts. Bolt numbered 36410 (matching), bore is mirror-bright and very strong. Rifle has no markings other than circled-Z proofs on bolt-knob and right side of receiver, includes cleaning-rod.
