AUSTRIAN Model 1895 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action long rifle # 8493H (8x56R) mfg. by Steyr. Excellent condition, arsenal refinished with full bluing. Bore is very strong and mostly bright. Top of  bolt electropenciled 8493 to match, wood has very few handling-marks. Includes correct bayonet & scabbard in excellent condition.  Not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $575.     C&R     SOLD

BRAZIL Model 1908 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # 8160Nn (7x57) mfg. by DWM, Oberndorf in c.1914.   Very Good, with around 80% original bluing (receiver in the white as is proper for these). Bore is strong and mostly bright, Brazilian crest is bold and attractive.  All matching serial numbers, includes cleaning-rod.  Walnut stock has some handling marks. PHOTOS . . . $525.   C&R   SOLD

GERMAN Model Karabiner 98 bolt-action infantry carbine # 147 (8x57mm) mfg. by Erfurtr in 1917.  Very Good PLUS condition, metal has mostly full bluing. No matching serial numbers, with a very strong and somewhat bright bore. Missing stacking swivel, beech buttstock has been lightly sanded with few of the expected handling marks and dings. BRAZILIAN Model 1908 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 52008 (7x57) mfg. by Itajuba in c.1930.  Very Good overall condition with 80% bluing (many parts browned from actual use). Receiver is only numbered part, bore is mostly bright with strong rifling. Very bold and detailed Brazilian crest above chamber. Local wood buttstock and handguard has very few handling-marks, missing cleaning-rod. PHOTOS . . . $425.   C&R   

BRITISH Sht LE No.1 Mk.II** bolt-action rifle # 1446N (.303 British), originally mfg. as a Long Lee by uncertain maker, converted to the Mk.II pattern by Enfield in 1905.  Very Good overall condition with mostly full finish and mostly bright and strong bore. This rifle still retains its front and rear volley-sights and magazine cut-off has charger-guide attached to the bolt head.  Rear sight is windage-adjustable and has bone-inserts in sight slider-buttons. Bolt and rear-sight matches receiver, front nose-cap does not. All serialized parts matches receiver except nose-cap, top-flat of barrel and rear handguard both DP marked, long thin crack in front handguard. Buttstock is nice-looking walnut with few handling-marks and scratches, quite an attractive specimen. Not import-marked.  PHOTOS . . . $1350.     C&R 

BRITISH Model No.4 Mk.1* Enfield bolt-action rifle # 56C9730 (.303 British) mfg. by Savage-Stevens in 1944. Excellent condition, with nearly full military Parkerizing on metal. Has an excellent mirror-bright 2-groove bore, all-matching numbers with 2-marked bolt-head, all parts marked with square-S (for Savage).  US PROPERTY marked on receiver. Wood is in excellent condition with very few handling-marks and standard butt, includes nonstandard filthy web-sling.  PHOTOS . . . $425.     C&R   SOLD

FINN Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 138703 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Izhevsk in 1915 on a hex receiver with [SA] Finn marking on right side of barrel-shank. Excellent condition with 95% or better bluing on all metal parts. Bolt matching, magazine-floorplate and buttplate scrubbed. Bore is strong and somewhat bright (has NOT been counterbored). One-piece Russian buttstock has some scuffs and scrapes from actual use with wire sling-swivels, no handguard. PHOTOS . . . $375.      C&R   SOLD

FINN Model 24 Mosin-Nagant "Lotta" bolt-action rifle # 28133 (7.62x54R) stepped barrel on a hex receiver, barrel-shank has "christmas tree" marking to show the chamber has been shortened. Excellent condition with 95% bluing. matching bolt body, bore mostly bright and strong (has been counterbored at muzzle), includes cleaning-rod and metal sling-swivels.  Three-piece Finn stock has very few minor handling marks. GERMAN Gewehr 71/84 bolt-action SHORTENED rifle # 7979 (8x57J) mfg. by Spandau in 1888.  Excellentr condition, was likely unissued before being cut-down. All matching serial numbers, bore is mirror-perfect. Walnut stock has been lightly sanded and is beautiful, original military cartouches very faint. rough with lots of contact-marks from actual usage. Unit marks on barrel-bands (see photo), Completely functional, rear sight has three leafs. A very good shooter, and much handier than the original. Not import marked. GERMAN Gewehr 88 Commission bolt-action rifle # 6054L (8x57J) mfg. by Steyr (date uncertain).  Good condition, very little remaining bluing with most metal browned and rough with some scale and minor pitting at the wood-line. No matching serial numbers. Receiver S-marked, bore is surprisingly decent, quite bright and very strong. Must be utilized with Gew.88 charger-clip (not included).  Walnut stock rough with lots of contact-marks from actual usage. Unit marks on barrel-bands (see photo), Completely functional, I would not hesitate to shoot this (however I DO NOT recommend any firing military ammo in it, only modern U.S.-manufactured commercial loads in it rather than milsurp ammo). INDIAN Model SMLE .410 musket # 56688G, Originally a No.1 Mk.III* rifle mfg. by Ishapore in 1942 and converted to single-shot 2 1/2" chamber .410 shotgun by Rifle Factory Ishapore in 1949. Excellent-PLUS condition, with all remaining bluing intact, all numbered parts matching and very few handling marks in stock. Bore is absolutely prefect and simply dazzling. Includes 40 rounds of POF.410 brass-cased ball ammo made for this rifle (4 tattered paper-wrapped bundles of 10 rounds each). PHOTOS . . . $475.      C&R     SOLD

PORTUGUESE Model 904/39 Mauser-Verguiero bolt-action short rifle # J4486 (8x57) mfg. by DWM in 1904. Very Good condition with all-matching numbers and bold royal crest above chamber. Original (browning) finish with a nice mirror-bright bore. Includes cleaning-rod. Stock has some handling marks and clear royal cartouche, crack caused by buttplate screw seem stable. Originally chambered in the obsolete 6.5x58 Verguiero cartridge, these rifles were rechambered to 8x57 in Germany just before WWII and have one of the smoothest actions of any military rifle. RUSSIAN Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action infantry rifle # 273764 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Izhevsk in 1916. Very Good or so condition, a Balkan rework, eagles on barrel and receiver removed (along with much of the legend), with mostly full bluing on all metal parts and a somewhat bright bore with strong rifling and counterbored muzzle.  Buttplate matching, but nothing else does. Stock has dovetailed repair on forend, else really nice surfaces and is very attractive. Includes cleaning rod. PHOTOS . . . $275.    C&R   

SIAMESE Model 1903 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 4490 (8x52R Siamese), mfg. by Koishikawa Arsenal  in 1903 with straight-bolt.  Very Good condition, with 75% or better original bluing on all parts. Missing sliding action-cover. Bore is very dark but has strong rifling. Walnut stock and handguard has very few dings and contact marks and retains its original finish. Missing cleaning rod. SWEDISH Model 96/38B Mauser bolt-action rifle # 309161 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf  in 1912 with straight-bolt and threaded muzzle.  Excellent condition, with 95% or better bluing on all metal parts. Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore (bore disk stamped 6.52/2).  All matching serial numbers (un-numbered cleaning rod). SWISS Model 96/11 Schmidt-Rubin infantry rifle # 278668 (7.5x55mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1901. All-matching numbers including magazine.  Excellent condition with 95% original bluing and a near-perfect mirror-bore.  Streaked walnut stock and handguard appears to have original finish with few of the expected handling-marks, NEUCHATEL (a canton in western Switzerland) cartouche stamped atop stock (among others).
