BRITISH & COMMONWEALTH MILITARY RIFLES

    AUSTRALIAN No.1 Mk.III bolt-action rifle # 67420 (.303 British) mfg. by Lithgow Arsenal in 1917 with large shield logo and 2nd Military Group stamp on receiver.  Excellent condition with full oil-blacked finish and mostly bright and strong bore. All matching numbers, magazine cut-off not present but retains its windage-adjustable rear sight, includes additional sling-swivel on front band. Buttstock and handguards are made of Queesnsland maple with a bold 4/44 cartouche on right side. A few of the expected handling-marks and compressions on wood but no cracks or repairs.     BRITISH Pattern 14 "Enfield" bolt-action rifle # W99085 (.303 British) mfg. by Winchester in c.1915. Near Excellent condition with 90% or better blued finish. Bore is strong and quite bright, bolt stamped to match receiver. Wood has quite a few handling-marks, with a brass unit-disk set into the right side and an arsenal-repaired crack on right of receiver. Volley sights have been removed (as usual), but stock is intact and has not been refinished. PHOTOS . . . $525.    C&R   SOLD

    BRITISH Pattern 14 "Enfield" bolt-action rifle # W148219 (.303 British) mfg. by Winchester in c.1916. Excellent condition with 95% or better blued finish. Bore is strong and mirror-bright, bolt stamped to match receiver. Wood has quite a few handling-marks, with a wood plug set into the right side stamped 257. Volley sights are intact and functional, stock is intact and has not been refinished. Not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $825.    C&R    SOLD

    BRITISH Enfield No.1 Mk.III bolt-action rifle # V6336 (.303 British) mfg. by Enfield in 1908 with Australian property markings. Very Good condition, with most remaining oil-blacked finish (some of it turning brown) and a surprisingly mirror-bright 4-groove bore. Has all-matching numbers, lacks magazine cut-off lever. Australian Department of Defense stamps on receiver. Wood has no finish and appears to have been pressure-cleaned, with a dovetailed arsenal repair at heel and toe, "Ishapore screw" in forend just in front of magazine-well. PHOTOS . . . $375.     C&R

Very Good or better condition, with most remaining oil-blacked finish (some of it turning brown) and a surprisingly bright 4-groove bore. Has all-matching numbers, Australian Department of Defense stamps on receiver. Wood has no finish and appears to have been pressure-cleaned, with a dovetailed arsenal repair at heel and toe and another at bottom of forend, "Ishapore screw" in center of stock just in front of magazine-well. Near Excellent condition, with most remaining oil-blacked finish and a darkish but strong 4-groove bore. Has all-matching numbers.     BRITISH No.1 Mk.III* bolt-action rifle # I1333 (.303 British) mfg. by Enfield in 1917 issued to the Austrian police post-WWII with circular OSTERR GENDARMARIE stamp on top of barrel-shank flat. Very Good or better condition with most bluing remaining on external metal (bolt is for some reason highly polished). Bolt not matching, numbers on rear sight, stock, and muzzle-cap matching receiver. A few of the expected handling-marks and compressions on wood but no cracks or repairs.     BRITISH Enfield ShT .22 Mk.IV* bolt-action single-shot rifle # N66391 (.22 Long Rifle) mfg. by Birmingham Small Arms in 1916 and fitted with a Parker-Hale No. 9G folding aperture rear sight having an optical lens. Near Excellent condition, with most remaining oil-blacked finish and a strong bright bore. Has all-matching numbers, folding aperture sight is functional and pretty damned cool, mount marked Bisley.     BRITISH Enfield No.4 Mk.1 bolt-action rifle # Q38875 (.303 British) mfg. by B.S.A. Shirley in 1944. Very Good condition with quite a bit of bluing wear (magazine and barrel-bands browned).  Serial numbers of bolt, stock and magazine matches receiver, bolt-head stamped with a 0. Four-groove bore is extremely strong and mirror-bright. Rear sight is of the L-shaped flip type. Stock has some handling-marks with small (almost unnoticeable) repair on left side by triggerguard) and a L-marked (long) butt. PHOTOS . . . $280.    C&R   SOLD

    BRITISH Enfield No.4 Mk.1/2 bolt-action rifle # BY17664 (.303 British) mfg. by Maltby in mid 1945 and converted to the Mk.1/2 configuration at Fazakerly in 1953 with Indonesian property-mark atop chamber. Excellent condition, serial numbers of bolt, stock and magazine matches receiver, 4-groove bore extremely strong and mirror-bright. Rear sight is of the milled ladder type, includes correct sling.     BRITISH Enfield No.4 Mk.1/3 bolt-action rifle # 93C4192 (.303 British) mfg. by Savage-Stevens in 1944 and converted to the Mk.1/3 configuration in 1951 at Fazakerly with U.S. PROPERTY on left rail of receiver. Very Good condition with lots of external finish wear on magazine, barrel-bands and front sight protector.  Bolt is matching receiver, 4-groove bore strong and mirror-bright.     BRITISH Enfield No.4 Mk.2 bolt-action rifle # PF314480 (.303 British) mfg. by Fazakerly in January, 1954. Very Good or better condition with some wear on magazine and barrel-bands.  Perfect mirror-bore, bolt-head stamped with 2, a few scuffs on wood with some signs of wear. All-matching numbers.     BRITISH Enfield No.4 Mk.2 bolt-action rifle # PF326910 (.303 British) mfg. by Fazakerly in November, 1954 with matching numbered bayonet & scabbard. Excellent-PLUS condition, basically an all-matching new "Irish-contract" rifle that was unwrapped from cosmoline, cleaned, and perhaps fired a few times. Perfect mirror-bore, nice metal with a few very minor scuffs on wood but no real signs of wear and a 1-markled bolt-head. All-matching numbers, nearly as nice as is obtainable for these.     BRITISH Enfield No.4 Mk.2 bolt-action rifle # A21191 (.303 British) mfg. by Fazakerly in 1955. NEW, UNISSUED, still in original factory mummy-wrap with new, unissued No.9 bayonet and scabbard (both still in the arsenal-grease). Nothing else to say, simply awesome. PHOTOS . . . $1250.    C&R 

    CANADIAN Enfield CNo.4 Mk.I* bolt-action rifle # 49L1764 (.303 British) mfg. by Long Branch arsenal in 1943. Excellent condition, metal has full finish on all metal parts. Stock has quite a few dings and handling-marks with an Ishapore screw in front of the magazine, butt is a bit loose. Bore is mostly bright 4-groove type, bolt matching, bolt-head stamped with # 1. Magazine has little finish remaining and is and mismatched (Savage-made). Rear sight is a Mk.III stamped ladder type. PHOTOS . . . $375.    C&R

    INDIAN Enfield No.1 Mk.III* bolt-action rifle # 60828H (.303 British) mfg. by Ishapore in 1944 with detachable cup-type grenade-launcher. Very Good or better condition, with most remaining painted enamel finish (some of it flaking and the underlying metal turning brown) and a surprisingly mirror-bright 4-groove bore. Has all-matching numbers, soldered wire-wrapped forend reinforced with a bolt in front of magazine-well. AMERICAN MILITARY RIFLES

    U.S.A. Model M1 Garand semiautomatic rifle # 233644 (.30-06) mfg. by Springfield Armory in May, 1941 with SA 6-49 barrel. Excellent condition with full Parkerized finish remaining on all metal and having an excellent bore (TE = 1.5, ME = 2.25). A service-grade prewar CMP Garand with updated postwar parts (Ogden arsenal) and original walnut buttstock and handguards with the expected handling marks from actual use and storage.     U.S.A. Model M1 Garand semiautomatic rifle # 1657109 (.30-06) mfg. by Springfield Armory in June, 1943 with SA 3-53 barrel. A service-grade CMP Garand with all WWII parts and original walnut buttstock and handguards with the expected handling marks from actual use and storage.     U.S.A. Model M1 Garand semiautomatic rifle # 5669704 (.30-06) mfg. by Harrington & Richardson in mid 1955 with a HRA 8-55 barrel. Excellent condition and all-correct as issued with all HRA parts and full uniform Parkerized finish on all metal. Bore is excellent (TE = 2.0, ME = 2.0).
