AUSTRALIAN No. 1 Mk. III* bolt-action rifle # A37317 (.303 British) mfg. by Lithgow Arsenal and dated 1918 with shield logo. Excellent condition with full oil-blacked finish and very bright and strong bore. Bolt not matching, nose-cap unmarked. BRITISH Model No.4 Mk.1* Enfield bolt-action rifle # 89C7160 (.303 British) mfg. at Savage in 1944 Excellent condition, nearly full stoving finish on all metal parts with an excellent mirror-bright bore and a 2-groove barrel. Bolt is matching with 0-marked bolt head, stock and magazine also fully matching. Rear sight is the milled ladder variety. Stock has a few very minor dings and compressions. PHOTO . . . $725. BRITISH Model No.4 Mk.2 Enfield bolt-action rifle # PF314597 (.303 British) mfg. at Fazakerly in January 1954 Near Excellent condition, most painted (stoving) finish on all metal parts worn at sharp edges with an excellent mirror-bright bore and a 2-groove barrel. BRITISH Model No.5 Mk.1 Enfield bolt-action "Jungle Carbine" # AA5743 (.303 British) mfg. at Fazakerly in 1947. Excellent condition, with most stoving intact on external finish. Forend and buttstock obviously new replacements, correct No.5 bolt not matching Has very strong and mostly bright 5-groove bore and 1-marked bolt-head. Includes unmarked olive-green web sling. DUTCH Model 1895 No.3 Old Model Mannlicher bolt-action carbine # 2223J (6.5x53R) mfg. by Steyr in 1900. Excellent condition, with 95% or better bluing. All matching serial numbers, bore is strong and mirror-bright. Stock is walnut in excellent condition with very little of the expected dings and handling-marks from actual use. Has LW cartouche on left side and HEMBRUG 1912-dated cartouche on right side, with long handguard. Includes cleaning rod. Not import-marked, a much nicer example than is usually encountered. EGYPTIAN "Hakim" semiautomatic rifle # 40281 (8x57) mfg. by Maadi in 1965. Excellent-PLUS condition, was professionally refinished by the late, great dealer Curt Ellison in the early 1990's to AS NEW condition with a mirror-bright very strong bore. FRENCH Model 1949-56 MAS semiautomatic rifle # G89531 (7.5x54) manufactured at St. Etienne in c.1964 and refurbished in 1983. Excellent-PLUS condition, with all Parkerizing intact and very little signs of wear. Has great mirror-bright bore. Includes four ten-round magazines, buttpad and sling. GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 9545e (8x57) mfg. by Berlin-Lübecker Maschinenfabrik (code 237) in 1940. This is a prime example of the infamous Mitchell's Mauser in Excellent condition, with 100% bluing and intact Nazi markings. Has all-milled parts, Polished-bright bolt (and all bolt parts), triggerguard and magazine-floorplate have been renumbered to match receiver & barrel. The bore is very strong and mirror bright. Buttstock is laminated with flat buttplate has been heavily sanded. Includes repro leather sling, cleaning rod and locking-screws. Very pretty, but not "correct". PHOTO . . . $750. C&R SOLD
INDIAN No.1 Mk.III* SMLE bolt-action rifle # 507B (.303 British), mfg. by Rifle Factory Ishapore in 1918 with intact (and functional) magazine cut-off. Very Good condition with much oil-blacked finish on external metal, some wear at corners and edges. Bore is very bright and strong, bolt serial number does not that of match receiver, but rear sight and nose cap does. Stock had wire wrapped for grenade launching, the rear wire wrap had been removed and the rear handguard is missing, "Ishie screw" present. PHOTOS . . . $425. C&R SOLD
INDIAN No.1 Mk.III* SMLE bolt-action rifle # Z05178 (.303 British), mfg. by Rifle Factory Ishapore with faint 1965-dated FTR markings on left side of butt socket. Very Good condition with most oil-blacked finish on external metal. Bore is very bright and strong, bolt and rear sight both numbered 05178 (matching), nose-cap mismatched. INDIAN Enfield No.2A bolt-action rifle # R6568 (7.62x51 NATO) mfg. by Ishapore Arsenal in 1966. Near Excellent condition, with full painted "stoving" remaining. All matching serial numbers, bore is mirror bright and sharp. Stock has original finish with some contact marks, rear handguard has usual small dovetailed repairs, "Ishie screw" present. ITALIAN Model 91/24 Mannlicher-Carcano Truppi-Speciale bolt-action carbine # BH7999 (6.5x52) mfg. by Terni in 1918 as an infantry rifle and rebuilt into carbine configuration by Terni in 1927. Good to Very Good condition, bluing mostly gone, bore is mostly bright and strong. Stock has matching 7999 on left side and a very thin crack at tang. Includes three six-round chargers. ITALIAN Model 38 Mannlicher-Carcano Truppi-Speciale bolt-action carbine # QP3389 (6.5x52) mfg. by Armaguerra in 1944 as a 1891/41 infantry rifle and rebuilt into T.S. carbine configuration more recently. Excellent-PLUS condition, with perfect blued finish on the metal and a mirror-perfect bore. Stock has matching QP3389 on left side, with very lovely finish and literally looks new. Top of receiver is unmarked but for a tiny stamp with the arms of the house of Savoy. Includes three six-round chargers, a very rare and unusual piece (only the rifles made at Armaguerra had serial numbers beginning with the letter Q). PHOTOS . . . $600. C&R SOLD
PORTUGUESE Model 904/39 Mauser-Verguiero bolt-action short rifle # J2641 (8x57) mfg. by DWM in 1904. Very Good condition with all-matching serial numbers and bold royal crest above chamber. Original (browning) finish with a nice mirror-bright bore, includes cleaning-rod. Stock has some handling marks. Originally chambered in the obsolete 6.5x58 Verguiero cartridge, these rifles were rechambered to 8x57 in Germany just before WWII and have one of the smoothest actions of any military rifle. PRUSSIAN Model 1809 smoothbore single shot muzzleloader infantry flintlock musket # 15 (.72 Caliber) mfg. by Potsdam in 1809 and converted to percussion in 1828. Very Good PLUS condition with most metal finish intact on all metal parts. Smoothbore barrel is not too bad considering its age, stock is very sound but is cracked on both sides at the wrist. Action is still very tight and functional, and there is a very good possibility that this could have been used by the South in the U.S. Civil War (as so many were). PHOTOS . . . $1250. SOVIET Model 44 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action carbine # UK5113 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Izhevsk in 1946. Near Excellent, not arsenal refinished, with 80% or better bluing on all metal parts. SPANISH Model 1921 Destroyer bolt-action carbine # 26591 (9x23 Largo) mfg. by Ayra Duria in 1957 (Eibar date-code C1). Very Good condition with 60-70% bluing throughout, magazine and triggerguard browned. SWISS Model K-31 Schmidt-Rubin short rifle # 914636 (7.5x55mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1948. All-matching serial numbers including magazine. Very Good condition with 50% or better external bluing and a near perfect, mirror bore. Wood is beech with the usual handling marks, III 48 stamped beneath buttplate (which contains soldier's tag). TURKISH Model 48 bolt-action "forestry" carbine # 13 (8x50R Lebel), originally mfg. as a FRENCH 1907-15 Berthier rifle by Chatellerault during WWI and converted to its current configuration in 1948. Very Good condition, with 60% bluing, bore is mostly bright and strong. Bolt-body is matching, walnut Mannlicher-type stock has damage on left side but is otherwise sound, a small chunk of wood missing from rear of handguard. PHOTOS . . . $375. C&R
U.S.A. Model 1873 Winchester lever-action rifle # 121077A (.44-40) mfg. by Winchester in 1876. Fair condition with no remaining original finish. Has 24" octagonal barrel with a rather rough bore and is completely functional. Buttstock has some thin cracks at tang, and forend has about 4" of wood chipped away on right side.
