ARGENTINE Model 1891 Mauser bolt-action rifle # T9832 (7.65x54) mfg. by DWM in 1899. Near Excellent condition, with 95% or better bluing, with intact national crest and long handguard.  All matching serial numbers (except cleaning rod), bore is excellent and quite bright with very strong rifling. Stock has original finish with some dings and handling marks from actual use over the last 120 years, oval brass nameplate tacked on right side. Over 99% of all Model 1891 long rifles have the crest ground off the receiver, these are very rare with crest intact. PHOTOS . . . $700.   C&R     SOLD

BRITISH Model No.5 Mk.1 Enfield bolt-action "Jungle Carbine" # BH9142 (.303 British) mfg. at BSA Shirley in 1946. Excellent or better condition, with some stoving intact on external finish. All matching serial numbers, has mirror-bright 5-groove bore and 2-marked bolt-head. Stock has some handling marks from actual use but is sound and finish is quite good, Includes olive-green web sling, very attractive.  PHOTOS . . . $950.     C&R 

CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action rifle # D3867 (7x57) mfg. by Loewe in 1895.  Excellent-PLUS condition, literally appears UNISSUED with full (100%) original bluing on all metal parts (very vivid fire-blue on all small parts and springs).  Chilean crest above chamber is very strong, all-matching serial numbers (including cleaning rod and stock). Bore is mirror-bright with very bold rifling. Lovely Walnut stock has bold 1895 cartouche and original unsanded finish with a few very minor scuffs from handling and storage over the last 124 years. CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # A1772 (7x57) mfg. by Loewe in 1895 with bent bolt.  Very Good, totally functional condition, with much fading bluing on metal parts (but no pitting). Chilean crest above chamber is extremely weak but clear. All serialized components matching (except for cleaning rod). Bore is strong and quite bright. CZECH Model vz 54-91 bolt-action Mosin Nagant SNIPER rifle # V3349 (7.62x39) mfg. by CZ Bystrica in 1957. Excellent-PLUS condition, virtually UNISSUED with full original bluing intact and a mirror-bright and very strong bore. All matching serial numbers, has heavy barrel and stock with accessory rail on bottom.  Wood is excellent with beautiful tiger-striped figure and original finish. Includes correct Baikal PSO-1 scope with lighted reticule (battery needs replacing) with removable rubber eyepiece and lens cover on front. DUTCH Model 1895 No.3 Mannlicher bolt-action cavalry carbine # 3704B (6.5x53R) mfg. by Steyr in 1900 with sling swivels on bottom and no handguard. Very Good condition, with 70% bluing. Bolt (and all bolt parts) have various serial numbers (and the bolt body has been "jeweled"), remainder of all numbered parts stamped 04 (matching). Bore is strong and quite bright. Stock is walnut with circular cartouche on right side reading STEYR 1901. Stock has many handling marks from actual use over the last 119 years, GW 43 carved on left side (likely by bored soldier). Missing cleaning rod. Not import-marked, only 18,000 manufactured. PHOTOS . . . $425.    C&R

EGYPTIAN "Hakim" semiautomatic rifle # 28144 (8x57) mfg. by Maadi in 1965. Excellent condition, full original blued finish with a mirror-bright very strong bore. Beech stock and handguard has many handling marks (mostly scuffs and scratches) from actual use, Arabic numerals 185 pained on left side by buttplate. FRENCH Model 1949-56 MAS semiautomatic rifle # H28010 (7.5x54) manufactured at St. Etienne in c.1965 and refurbished in 1978. Excellent-PLUS condition, with all Parkerizing intact and very little signs of wear. Has great mirror-bright bore. Includes three ten-round magazines, buttpad and sling. JAPANESE Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action short rifle # 2030739 (6.5x50) mfg. at Nagoya in c.1930 as a Type 38 long rifle, and later modified at the Chigusa factory of Nagoya arsenal with shorter (25") barrel and stock.  Excellent condition with full bluing on all major metal parts. Mum has been ground, bore is extremely bright and strong. Bolt (and all bolt parts) and magazine floorplate 739 (matching), with mismatched sliding metal action cover.  Includes cleaning rod, walnut stock and handguard has original finish with a few nicks but looks quite nice, buttplate rusty from being stood upright during storage. Not import-marked, EXTREMELY RARE and desirable configuration missing from most specialized Japanese collections.  PHOTO . . . $850.    C&R

JAPANESE Type 44 Arisaka bolt-action cavalry carbine with folding spike-bayonet # 20746 (6.5x50) mfg. at Kokura in c.1915. Excellent condition with full bluing on all major metal parts (triggerguard and magazine floorplate browned from carry). Mum not very prominent (but does not look like it has been ground, just markings on top of receiver very fain). Bore is quite bright and strong, bolt numbered 032.  Includes jag tip and two segments of cleaning rod stored in butt of stock. Small brass plate likely from downed Japanese airplane tacked by buttplate, with Japanese characters  indicating it is from a  Model A electromagnetic instrument made in 1941.  Stock has original finish with the expected handling-marks and dings, but is sound with no cracks. JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action short rifle Series 4, # 60174 (7.7x58) mfg. at Nagoya in mid 1943. Excellent condition with all original metal finish intact. Bluing is just about perfect for these. Bore is chrome-plated and extremely bright and strong. Mum is intact, bolt and all bolt parts numbered 679. Includes original monopod, anti-aircraft wings on rear sight and cleaning rod. Stock finish is original with some scrapes and handling marks, initials RS carved on right side (likely by the soldier who "liberated" it). The only real negative is the bolt has been slightly downward (easily fixable). Not import-marked, extremely attractive. PHOTO . . . $625.    C&R    SOLD

JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action short rifle Series 6, # 80571 (6.5x50) mfg. at Nagoya in late1943. Excellent condition with nearly full original bluing and bright and strong chrome-lined bore.  Mum has been heavily ground. All bolt parts numbered 571 to match receiver, has cylindrical bolt handle and proper cleaning rod with ladder peep rear sight. Wood has original finish with handling marks, not import-marked. JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series 10 # 63623 (7.7x58) mfg. at Nagoya in late 1944. Near Excellent condition with full original bluing. Bolt and all bolt parts stamped 623 (matching). Mum above chamber slightly ground (but very visible).  This type has fixed peep rear sight, cylindrical bolt handle with welded safety knob. Forend consists of separate piece of wood held in place by barrel-bands with no provision for cleaning rod. Stock and short handguard has original finish and has never been sanded, but has many nicks and dings in finish.  Bore is very bright and strong. Not import-marked, functional. SOVIET Model SVT-40 Tokarev semiautomatic rifle # DG449 (7.62x54R), mfg. at Tula in 1945. Excellent-PLUS refurbished condition with full bluing on all metal, bore is excellent and mirror-bright. Features twelve-chamber muzzle break but no scope rails. Includes ten round magazine, SVT stock has no arsenal repairs and is numbered to match with nearly perfect red shellac finish.  This is only the SECOND 1945-dated SVT I have ever seen, as production reportedly ceased on January 10th, 1945 (after only ten days). Excessively rare, and a superb very attractive example that puts the only other one (serial # DG620, which we sold in May, 2000) to shame! PHOTOS . . . $2575.     C&R    SOLD

SPANISH Model FR-8 Mauser bolt-action tactical carbine # FR8-28228 (7.62x51 NATO) mfg. by La Coruņa in 1952. Excellent condition, with 98% Parkerized metal surfaces and a sharp mirror-bore. Matching serial numbered bolt (no other parts numbered), crest atop receiver extremely clear. Includes correct web sling. Wood has original finish and is quite handsome with just a few minor dings. SWEDISH Model 94/14 bolt-action Mauser carbine # 101846 (6.5x55) mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1918. Near Excellent condition, about 85% or better external bluing with near-perfect mirror-bore, top of barrel shows the most wear.  Bolt (and all bolt parts), magazine floorplate and buttplate numbered 846 (matching), barrel bands have different numbers. Beech buttstock and handguard has many scuffs and dings from the past Century of use, has attached leather sling-buckle on right side. Has muzzle extension (required for importation). SWISS Model K-31 Schmidt-Rubin short rifle # 853980 (7.5x55mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1946. All-matching serial numbers including magazine. Excellent condition with 95% or better external bluing and a near perfect, mirror bore. Wood is streaked beech (kinda looks like walnut, but isn't) with less than the usual handling marks, V 45 stamped beneath buttplate (which also contains soldier's tag). YUGOSLAVIAN Model 24/47 Mauser bolt-action rifle # D8796 (8mm) mfg. by Zastava in 1949 (receiver marked 3ABOД 44).  Excellent condition, a large-ring intermediate-length Mauser with 98% or better original bluing on all metal components and a sharp mirror-bore. Strong Tito-era Yugoslavian crest above chamber. Bolt numbered D8796 (matching), magazine floorplate and stock numbered 8796 (matching). Stock is walnut and has original finish. YUGOSLAVIAN Model 24/47 Mauser bolt-action rifle # E1432 (8x57) mfg. by Zastava in c.1950. Excellent-PLUS condition, essentially UNISSUED! This is a large-ring intermediate-length Mauser with 99% or better original bluing on the metal surfaces with no apparent wear and a razor sharp mirror-bore. Bold Tito-era Yugoslavian crest above chamber. All matching serial numbers, with milled triggerguard and magazine-floorplate and straight bolt handle. YUGOSLAVIAN Model 1959/66 A1 SKS semiautomatic rifle # Z-704188 (7.62x39) mfg. by Zastava in 1986. Excellent-PLUS, essentially UNISSUED condition, with 100% bluing, perfect bore and all-matching numbers with integral bayonet, non-ported grenade-launcher and night-sights. Wood is beech and is almost perfect (some tiny dings on right side), includes cleaning-kit in butt-trap, cleaning-rod and correct leather sling. Absolutely gorgeous.
