ARGENTINE Model 1909 Mauser bolt-action cavalry carbine # A9679 (7.65x53) mfg. by DWM in 1910.  Near Excellent arsenal-refinished condition, with 99% bluing on most parts, receiver in the white (as is proper) with grainy finish. Argentine crest above chamber clear. All-matching numbers, has mostly bright and strong bore. Dark walnut stock has a few minor handling-marks, handguard has a few chips and a hairline crack. ARGENTINE Model 1909/47 Mauser bolt-action cavalry carbine # 015223 (7.65x53) mfg. by F.M.A.P. (Rosario) in 1953.  An Excellent-PLUS example, with 95% bluing on all metal that should be blued, receiver in the white. Very bold C. F. S. above chamber (Consejo Federal de Seguridad).  All-matching numbers (B-prefix added by importer) with an excellent mirror-bright bore. Dark local-wood stock has very few handling-marks (mostly small dings and scratches.  Quite scarce. one of just 1200 with these markings produced, by far the finest we have ever encountered. BELGIAN Model 24/50 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 11498 (.30-06) mfg. by Fabrique National in 1951.  Excellent-PLUS condition, with 98% or better original Parkerized finish.  Bore virtually mirror-perfect, Crowned-L (for King Leopold) with ABL and date 1951 atop receiver.  All matching numbers, includes cleaning rod and correct leather sling. Walnut stock has original finish and a few scuffs and handling-marks, with a 1" x 1/2" arsenal patch on right side. Not import-marked, as nice an example that we have ever encountered, and worthy of the finest collection.  PHOTO  . . . $950.   C&R

BRAZILIAN Model 1908 bolt-action infantry rifle # 6578L (7x57) mfg. by DWM in 1910. Excellent condition with receiver "in the white" as is proper, all-matching numbers. 95% bluing on the parts that should be blued, with a perfect mirror-bright bore. Walnut stock has tigerstripe figure with original finish and a few nicks, dings and other handling-marks. Star of David cartouche in right side of stock a crisp as can be. BRITISH No.1 Mk.III* Enfield bolt-action rifle # M59115 (.303 British) a "dispersal" rifle mfg. by B.S.A. Shirley in 1941. Excellent arsenal-refinished condition, with 100% bluing and a strong and mostly bright 4-groove bore. All matching numbers, wood has no finish and appears to have been pressure-cleaned. CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # D845 (7x57) mfg. by Loewe in 1895.  Excellent condition, with 90% original deep bluing on all metal parts.   Chilean crest above chamber is weak but clear.  All-matching numbers (except cleaning-rod, #2474).  Bore is very strong and mirror-bright.  Lovely walnut stock has original finish with clear Marina Federal cartouche, quite a few of the expected handling-marks, scuffs and scratches. CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action cavalry carbine # B677 (rechambered by the Chilean military to 7.62 NATO in 1961) mfg. by Loewe in 1895.  About Very Good condition, with 50-60% mostly browned bluing on all metal parts.   Chilean crest above chamber is a bit weak but clear, NATO 1961 atop back of receiver.  No matching numbers (correct Chilean bolt), bore looks literally new and is mirror-bright. Walnut stock has subtle tiger-striped figure and looks to have been lightly sanded long ago, 1895-dated cartouche visible, quite a few of the expected handling-marks, scuffs and scratches, handguard cracked.  PHOTOS . . . $450.    Antique, no FFL required 

EGYPTIAN  "Hakim" semiautomatic rifle # 51582 (8x57) mfg. by Maadi in 1969.  Near Excellent condition, 90% original bluing with a strong mirror-bright bore. Wood appears to have original finish with a few handling-marks. PHOTOS . . . $525.   C&R  SOLD

FRENCH Model 1874/80 Gras bolt-action single-shot cartridge rifle # A95520 (11x59R) mfg. by St. Etienne in 1876.  Good condition, most metal finish turned to a pleasing brown patina.  No matching parts, bore is quite bright and very strong.  Decent walnut stock was refinished long ago, sling-swivels frozen from rust.  PHOTOS . . . $375.   Antique, no FFL required   SOLD

FRENCH Model 1949/56 MAS semiautomatic rifle # G45987 (7.5x54) manufactured at St. Etienne in 1972. Near Excellent condition, with most Parkerizing intact, signs of wear only at high points and on corners. Has great bore. Includes sling, black-rubber buttpad, three 10-round magazines (two in new correct leather magazine-pouch), bayonet (with scabbard) and slip-on night-sights, no other accessories. GERMAN Model 98k bolt-action rifle # 9585d  (8mm), mfg. by Bystrica (factory code dou 45) in 1945.  A rearsenaled Russian-capture in Excellent condition, with 100% bluing, all parts electropenciled with number of receiver.  Has an attractive laminated stock with flat buttplate and all milled small parts (solid front band). Bore is excellent and bright, intact swastika proof on left side of barrel-shank. Includes repro cleaning-rod and locking-screws.  PHOTOS . . . $395.   C&R    SOLD

ITALIAN Model 38 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action Cavalry Carbine # TU4129 (6.5x52) mfg. by Gardone in circa 1944. Excellent condition, with close to 100% bluing  and absolutely perfect mirror-bore. JAPANESE Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action carbine series 5, # 27016 (6.5x50) mfg. by Nagoya Arsenal in c. 1939. Excellent condition, with full original bluing and a strong mirror-bright bore. Mum has been ground (as usual). All matching serial numbers (016), includes action-cover and repro cleaning rod. Wood retains its original finish and has never been sanded, heavy gash to left of stock, some intentional marks (possibly "kill marks") on right side. PORTUGUESE  Model 904/39  Mauser-Verguiero bolt-action short rifle # J1576 (8x57) mfg. by DWM in 1904.   Very Good condition with all-matching numbers and bold royal crest above chamber.  Original (browning) finish with a nice mirror-bright bore, includes cleaning-rod.  Originally chambered in the obsolete 6.5x58 Verguiero cartridge, these rifles were rechambered to 8x57 in Germany just before WWII and have one of the smoothest actions of any military rifle.  PHOTOS . . . $375.    C&R   SOLD

A very lovely Russian SVT-40 sniper

RUSSIAN Model SVT-40 semiautomatic Tokarev SNIPER rifle # XZ3280 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Izhevsk in 1940.  Excellent-PLUS (as rearsenaled) condition with attached original  1944-dated SVT scope with excellent optics and repro scope-mount. All numbered parts matching receiver (except magazine). Bore is excellent and mirror-bright, has AVT-configuration stock. Receiver grooved for scope, notch for mount atop rear of receiver genuine. SPANISH Model 1916 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 2Z4186 (7x57) mfg. at Oviedo in c.1938. Excellent condition, with 95+% bluing and all-matching serial numbers, crossed sword and faces symbol of Guardia Civil above chamber. Bore (in original caliber, *NOT* rechambered to 7.62 NATO) strong and mirror-bright.  Walnut stock has very few handling-marks and is quite attractive with original finish. SWEDISH Model 94/14 Mauser bolt-action carbine # 71371 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf  in 1916 with bent-bolt.  Excellent condition, with 95% original bluing on all parts. Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore with muzzle-extension.  All-matching numbers (371), lovely Beech stock (with lots of vivid "flash" in the grain along both sides) looks to have been expertly refinished. Includes sling-buckle, unit-marks on top of buttplate apparently ground-off long ago. Not import-marked, an absolutely gorgeous example. PHOTOS . . . $1250.   C&R 

An attractive early Swedish 41B sniper

SWEDISH Model 41B SNIPER bolt-action rifle # 18059 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1899. A very nice specimen, with 90+% bluing, only bolt (and all bolt parts) matching receiver. Includes 1941-dated AJACK 4x90 scope with exceptionally bright and clear optics with leather lens-caps, scope-mount and metal case for scope both numbered to rifle. Near-perfect mirror-bright bore, with 6.49/1 bore-disc, dial-type m/55 rear-sight adjustable from 100 to 600 meters in 25-meter increments. Buttstock and handguard are beech with some small nicks and compressions in the wood from handling and storage, but considerably nicer than is usually seen and quite a handsome rig. SWISS Model 1869 Vetterli bolt-action infantry rifle # 52950 (10.4mm Swiss rimfire) mfg. by S.I.G., Neuhausen c.1870. Very Good PLUS condition, all-matching numbers (and every part is numbered). All original case-hardened finish turning golden or mottled, bore is quite bright and retains strong rifling. Rifle still has magazine loading-gate (a feature usually removed after 1871) with "key" in forend. U.S.A. Model of 1903 Springfield bolt-action rifle # 1492168 (.30-06) mfg. by Springfield Armory in 1936, arsenal refurbished with a new 12-44 dated High Standard barrel.  Excellent condition with full Gray Parkerizing on all metal parts. A choice example with near-perfect 2-groove bore and lovely walnut stock having very few minor dings, boxed RIA / FK cartouche on left side of stock. U.S.A. Model of 1917 bolt-action infantry rifle # 853503 (.30-06) mfg. by Eddystone in July, 1918 with a later replacement barrel made by High Standard. Excellent condition with 95% or better Parkerized finish on metal and an extremely bright and strong bore. Stock has a few dings and scratches, AAM (Augusta Arsenal) cartouche stamped on left side.
