 BRITISH Enfield No.4 Mk.1 bolt-action rifle # J9668 (.303 British) mfg. by BSA Shirley in 1942. Very Good condition, with bright and strong 4-groove bore, full bluing on receiver and barrel, magazine and barrel-bands heavily browned from contact with sweaty palms.   Bolt is matching, no other parts are numbered. CANADIAN Model CNo.4 Mk.1* Enfield bolt-action rifle # 93L2293 (.303 British) mfg. at Long Branch in 1950. Excellent condition, with 95% blued finish on external metal (magazine is browned from contact with sweaty palms).  Bolt numbered 93L2293 (matching), magazine numbered 932293 (matching), forend not numbered. Has mirror-bright 4-groove bore and 1-marked bo9+8lt-head. Rear sight is of the stamped ladder type. Stock has some inconsequential scrapes and dings from handling. PHOTOS . . . $825.     C&R    

CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # A135 (rechambered in Chile to 7.62 NATO) mfg. by Ludwig Loewe in 1895 with 29" barrel and straight-bolt. Good to Very Good condition, with less than 50% bluing on all metal. Mostly bright bore with very strong rifling. No matching serial numbers, Chilean crest above chamber clear but not strong. Slider on rear sight will not lock. CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # F8349 (7x57mm) mfg. by Ludwig Loewe in 1895 with 29" barrel and straight-bolt. Near Excellent condition, with 85% bluing on external metal (less on triggerguard, magazine floorplate and barrel bands from sweaty hands).   Mostly bright bore with very strong rifling. FINN Model 39 Mosin Nagant bolt-action rifle # 51600 (7.62x54R), barrel by Valmet (VKT) in 1942 on a post-1898 receiver.   Excellent condition, with full bluing. Bolt-knob and magazine floorplate stamped 1600 (matching). Bore is mirror-bright with strong rifling (NOT counterbored at muzzle). Finn two-piece wartime stock (rounded finger-joints) has very little actual wear and beautiful marbled figure with a few nicks from transportation and storage. FINN Model 39 Mosin Nagant bolt-action rifle # 58704 (7.62x54R), barrel by Valmet (VKT) in 1942 on an 1898 dated Sestroryetsk receiver.   Very Good or so condition, with weak bluing turning to a pleasing gray color.  Bolt-knob stamped 8704 (matching). Bore is quite bright with strong rifling (NOT counterbored at muzzle). Finn three-piece wartime stock (rounded finger-joints) has much wear with dings from actual service use but is sound. GERMAN Model Gewehr 88/05 bolt-action Commission rifle # 840e (8x57i) mfg. by Steyr in 1889.   Very Good condition, with 75% fading bluing.  No matching serial numbers, bolt has Arabic numbers, rear sight has Western numerals.  Bore is sharp and somewhat bright (marked with S), still retains its barrel-jacket.  Includes cleaning rod, very nice walnut stock with subtle tigerstriped figure. GERMAN Model Gewehr 98 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 3908L (8x57mm) mfg. by D.W.M. in 1916 with the 1920 Treaty of Versailles validation.    A Sporterized example, brrel having been cut down to 22" and the forend shortened to reduce weight in the field.  No matching serial numbers, , the rear sight has been replaced with a tangent sight calibrated from 100 to 2000 meters, which was an improvement over the original lange-vizir "rollercoaster" sight whose lowest sight setting as 400 meters).  All external metal coated with glossy black lacquer and the straight bolt has been bent down.  Bore is not very bright but has strong rifling.  Stock has seen better days but is strong. ITALIAN Model 1870/87/16 Vetterli-Vitali  bolt-action infantry rifle # MO8017 (6.5x52 Carcano) mfg. by Torino in 1881.  Near Excellent (arsenal rebuilt) condition, with mostly full bluing on all metal parts. bore is actually quite strong but not very bright and rifle appears to be functional. Wood has typical handling marks. Includes cleaning-rod.   Not import marks, not recommended for shooting.  PHOTOS . . . $375.   Antique, no FFL required     SOLD

POLISH Model wz29 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 5276 (8x57mm), undated, mfg. by Warsaw between the wars with straight-bolt, arsenal-refurbished by Spain during their civil war in the mid-1930's.  Excellent condition, with 95% or better bluing on all parts. Bolt numbered 62781 (NOT matching), bore is mirror-bright and very strong. Rifle has no markings other than circled-Z proofs on bolt-knob and right side of receiver, missing cleaning-rod. ROMANIAN Model 1969 bolt-action militay training rifle # B-8207 (.22 LR) mfg. by Cugir in 1981.  Excellent condition with full bluing, a few tiny handling-marks in the wood. Bolt is mismatched (as usual for these), includes one 5-round magazine and hooded front sight with scope-rail above receiver.  Rear sight has folding-leaves calibrated for 25, 50 and 100 meters. These were used in the Romanian military as trainers for the AK47.   PHOTOS . . . $225.   not C&R  

ROMANIANModel 1969 bolt-action militay training rifle # C-7144 (.22 LR) mfg. by Cugir in 1982.  Excellent condition with full bluing, a few tiny handling-marks in the wood. Bolt is mismatched (as usual for these), includes one 5-round magazine and hooded front sight with scope-rail above receiver.  Rear sight has folding-leaves calibrated for 25, 50 and 100 meters and extremely flimsy pleather sling. SOVIET Model 91/30 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 17920 (7.62x54R), mfg. by Izhevsk in 1928 on a hexagonal receiver.    Excellent-PLUS arsenal refinished condition, with 98% or better bluing on all metal parts. All matching (electro-penciled) serial numbers.  Bore is mirror-bright (has NOT been counterbored at muzzle). SOVIET Model 38 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action carbine # IH3734 (7.62x54R), mfg. by Izhevsk in 1943 on a round receiver.    Excellent arsenal refinished condition, with 95% or better bluing on all metal parts. All matching stamped serial numbers.  Bore is mostly bright (has been counterbored at muzzle). M38 buttstock and handguard has a few very minor handling marks and scrapes in the shellac.   Includes cleaning rod. PHOTOS. . . $475.    C&R  

 

SPANISH Model 1893 long rifle # S5243 (7x57mm) made by Oviedo in 1896. Excellent condition, with 95% or better original blued finish.  All numbered parts except for bolt shroud are stamped 5243 (matching). Bore is somewhat bright and strong. Matching Walnut stock has very few minor dings and other handling marks. Includes cleaning rod.   Not import marked, extremely attractive, and possibly used in the Spanish American War.   PHOTOS . . . $950.* Antique, no FFL required     

SPANISH Model 1893 long rifle # K898 (7x57mm) made by Oviedo in 1902. Excellent condition, with 95% or better original blued finish. All numbered parts except for bolt shroud are stamped K898 or 898.   Bore is somewhat bright and strong. Walnut stock has very few minor dings and other handling marks to be expected of a 123 year-old military rifle. SPANISH Model 1916 bolt-action short rifle # E5326 (7x57) mfg. by Oviedo in 1921 with "roller-coaster" type tangent rear sight. Very Good condition with nearly full bluing, some scattered light surface rust. All numbered parts numbered 5326 (matching).  Bore is a bit dirty but will possibly clean up. SPANISH Model 1916 bolt-action short rifle # 2Z638 (7.62x51) mfg. by Oviedo in c.1930 with Spanish Civil Guard markings (crossed axe & faces) above chamber. Excellent condition with little appreciable wear but has some light surface ruse. Bolt numbered 2Z638, all other numbered parts stamped 638 (matching). Bent down bolt numbered EA10363 (matching), all other numbered parts also matching. SPANISH AIR FORCE Model 43 short rifle # EA22003 (8x57mm) mfg. by La Coruna in c.1945 (top of receiver has Air Force crest). Very similar to a 98k in appearance, but with an auxiliary bayonet-lug (like the Chilean & Argentine-type bayonet) and no sling-slot through wood. Near Excellent condition overall. Bolt numbered EA22003 (matching), all other numbered parts also matching. TURKISH Model 38 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # 75709 (8x57) originally a German Gew.98 and reconfigured by Ankara arsenal in 1942, a large-ring Mauser with straight bolt.  Very Good or better condition, with mostly full bluing. Rear sight numbered 75709 to match, otherwise no matching serial numbers (as usual for a rework).  Bore is somewhat bright with strong rifling, completely functional.  Includes cleaning-rod, walnut stock and handguard has been sanded and refinished.   PHOTOS . . . $375.*        C&R     SOLD

UKRANIAN Model 91/30 Mosin Nagant bolt-action rifle # 63196 (7.62x54R), mfg. by Tula in 1927 with hexagonal receiver,  legend Виробпено в Україні (produced in Ukraine) and illustration of a target on left side of magazine extension.  Excellent-PLUS refurbished condition with full bluing on all metal parts and a mirror-bright bore.  All serialized parts matching barrel (63196). Rear sight curiously pinned in the 100 meter position.   Stock and handguard has a few of the usual scuffs in the shellac finish from use and storage and is in quite nice shape.   PHOTOS . . . $875.*        C&R 

YUGOSLAVIAN Model M95M Mannlicher straight-pull short rifle # 92587 (8x57mm), made by Steyr (undated).  Very Good condition, with 80% or better bluing (sdome scattered light verdigris) and an extremely bright bore with very sharp rifling. All matching serial numbers, stock also stamped to match. Wood has many dings and handling marks, extractor and scarce internal magazine clip present.  Not import-marked, extremely scarce.
