ARGENTINE Model 1891 Mauser bolt-action rifle # H2846 (7.65x54) mfg. by Ludwig Loewe in 1894. Excellent condition, with 95% or better bluing, Argentine national crest has been ground off top of receiver (as usual). All numbered parts numbered to receiver (including stock and cleaning-rod). Bore is excellent and extremely bright with very strong rifling. Buttstock has original finish with some small dings and handling marks from actual public use. Features short handguard. BRITISH Model No.5 Mk.1 Enfield bolt-action "Jungle Carbine" # T3780 (.303 British) mfg. at Fazakerly in December 1945. Near Excellent condition, with 80% military stoving (glossy black paint) chipped in spots from external metal (Fittings such as buttplate, barrel-band and magazine browned from exposure to the elements). Bolt is matching, no other parts numbered with strong mirror-bright 5-groove bore and 0-marked bolt-head. Wood has quite a few handling marks from actual use. Not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $675. COLOMBIAN Model 1950 Mauser bolt-action carbine # 298 (8x57mm) made by Fabrique National. Near Excellent condition, with 85% or better bluing on all metal parts and very little apparent wear. Has no receiver markings and a very bright and strong bore. Matching bolt (no other parts are numbered on these), walnut stock & handguard has original finish with considerable dings and other handling marks. Missing cleaning rod. These are commonly attributed to MOROCCO for some reason, but many I have seen have Hispanic names scratched into the stocks and many ex-Colombian military veterans have identified rifles that they were actually issued while in the Colombian Army. CZECH Model 98k Mauser bolt-action carbine # 4380L (8x57) mfg. by CZ Brno (factory code dov) in 1946. Excellent-PLUS condition with all external blue intact and all-matching serial numbers (except for stock). Bore is mirror-bright and extremely strong. Barrel-bands are stamped, but magazine floorplate is milled. Includes cleaning rod, but no front sight hood. Gorgeous laminated stock and handguard sound and with minimal handling marks. FINN Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 68306 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Tula in 1905 with [SA] Finn property marking in barrel. Very Good or better condition, with mostly full bluing on all metal parts. Has a strong bright bore (has been counterbored at muzzle). 68306 on bolt body (matching). FINN Model 39 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 506237 (7.62x54R) mfg. by SAKO in 1943 with SK.Y marked barrel. Excellent-PLUS condition with 98% bluing on all metal parts and a mirror bright very strong bore (NOT counterbored at muzzle). Serial numbers on bolt-knob and magazine-floorplate matching (6237) but buttplate scrubbed (as usual). Includes cleaning-rod. Very attractive three-piece wartime stock (rounded finger-joints) has correct 1943-dated Civil-Guard cartouche on right side with a few of the usual handling-marks and compressions, very early (1940's) FINN ARSENAL-TAG still attached. FINN Model 38 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action short rifle # E562 (7.35 Carcano) mfg. by Terni in 1939. Excellent condition, metal shows wear only at corners. This rifle does have a gorgeous, mirror-bright bore, fixed rear sight marked 7.35. Buttstock serial number matches receiver and it has some of the expected handling marks from actual service use. GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 3055c (8x57) mfg. by ERMA (code S/27) in 1937. An uncleaned all-matching brigback ATTIC FIND in relic condition. All external metal browned with evidence of "blood pitting". Is untouched since being found (with the exception of the bore, which was dark and dingy but is now quite strong and bright after I( cleaned it). Wood has never been refinished or sanded, with intact military cartouches on right side. No cleaning-rod, sling fell apart upon discovery and was discarded. Not import-marked.. PHOTO . . . $1075. GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 2418 (8x57mm) mfg. by Berlin-Sühler-Waffen (factory code BSW 38) in 1938. A Russian-capture rifle in Excellent refurbished condition. No matching stamped serial numbers (Russian serials all match), with very bold Nazi markings. Has Weimar stick-eagles (only used at this factory). Bore is extremely strong and very bright. HUNGARIAN Model 91/30 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # DH5823 (7.62x54R) mfg. by FÉG (factory code 02) in 1953. Near Excellent condition with nearly full bluing on all metal parts and a mirror-bright bore (NOT counterbored at muzzle). All matching serial numbers. Includes cleaning rod and correct sling as well as 02-marked spike bayonet. Beech buttstock has many handling-marks and Arabic 16 / 2 painted painted on left side. ITALIAN Model 38 Mannlicher-Carcano short rifle # S1224 (6.5x52) mfg. by Terni in early 1940 (the XVIII year of Mussolini). Very Good condition, with 70% original bluing remaining but no pitting. JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series 8 # 26870 (7.7x58) mfg. at Nagoya in mid-1944. Excellent condition with full original bluing, bolt and bolt parts numbered 870 (matching), mum ground. This type has fixed rear sight, wooden buttplate and no provision for cleaning rod. . JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series 11 # 13433 (7.7x58) mfg. at Nagoya in early-1945. Very Good condition with fading original bluing, bolt and bolt parts numbered 433 (matching), mum lightly ground (most of it still visible). This type has fixed rear sight, wooden buttplate, separate forend (held in place by barrel-bands and no provision for cleaning rod. Bore is slightly rough from shooting corrosive ammo without cleaning afterwards, wood has original finish with very few (if any) handling marks with the exception of carved Kanji letters on right side (meaning unknown). JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series 30, # 39440 (7.7x58) mfg. at Toyo Kogyo in c.1941. Excellent condition with full original bluing, no matching numbers, mum lightly ground (most of it still visible). This type has ladder rear sight with anti-aircraft wings, provision for monopod (missing) and plum-shaped bolt handle with checkered safety knob. Cleaning rod is missing, wood has original finish and has never been sanded. Chrome-lined bore is mirror-bright and very strong. Not import-marked.. PHOTO . . . $425. C&R
JAPANESE Type 2 Arisaka bolt-action Paratrooper takedown rifle # 16166 (7.7x58) mfg. at Nagoya.. Truly Excellent condition with full original bluing, all-matching serial numbers (assembly numbers 68 on barrel and both sides of coupling), mum ground (never seen one for sale that wasn't). Wood has original finish with some of the expected contact marks, includes cleaning rod. Gorgeous mirror chrome-lined bore, no import-marks. POLISH Model K98 Mauser bolt-action short-rifle # 8090Y (8x57), mfg. by Warsaw in 1930. A small-ring Mauser in the Kar 98 configuration with stacking-rod beneath barrel and a bent bolt. Excellent condition, with 95% or better bluing. Has strong and somewhat bright bore. Bolt is matching receiver, barrel-bands are not. Large eagle P.F.K. / WARSZAWA / 1930 above chamber. PORTUGUESE Model 1941 bolt-action rifle # F7019 (8mm) mfg. by Mauser in 1941 with Nazi markings and bold Portuguese crest above chamber. A 100% matching 98k rifle including the stock in Excellent-PLUS condition with full high-gloss bluing and little signs of wear. Bore is mirror-bright, swastikas on left side of receiver and barrel-shank very bold. Includes cleaning-rod and front sight-hood. Stock has Eagle-H and other military cartouches on right side. Includes Israeli 98k sling. These contract rifles never made it to Portugal, but were pressed into service with the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe during WWII. Not import-marked, very scarce. SERBIAN Model 1899Č Mauser bolt-action short-rifle # 11456 (8x57) mfg. by DWM in 1899. Very Good condition, most remaining bluing browned from oxidation but intact. Only buttstock matching receiver, bolt mismatched but is an 1899Č bolt. Bore is strong and somewhat bright, stock and handguard quite scuffed up but has original finish and has not been sanded (Russian star containing hammer & sickle carved in left side by bored soldier). SOUTH AFRICAN REPUBLIC Model 1893 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # C2874 (8x57) mfg. by DWM in 1899. Excellent or better condition (all external blue intact, wear only at triggerguard from carry) with Chilean crest atop receiver. All serial numbered parts matching except for turned-down bolt (numbered C240), bore is mostly -bright and very strong, includes matchig cleaning rod. Excellent or better condition ( all external blue intact, wear only at triggerguard and magazine-floorplate from carry) with no crest atop receiver. All serial numbered parts matching except for straight bolt (indistinct number) and buttstock, bore is mostly bright and very strong, missing cleaning rod. Stock and handguard appears to have original finish. SWEDISH Model 94/14 bolt-action Mauser carbine # 34548 (6.5x55) mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1904. Excellent condition, about 95% external bluing with near-perfect mirror-bore, all-matching numbers including barrel-bands. Nice walnut buttstock and handguard with a few handling-marks. Has muzzle extension (added to able importation before 1986) with original leather sling with buckle, brass unit-disk on right side. Includes excellent M14 bayonet and scabbard with leather frog. U.S.A. Model of 1917 bolt-action infantry rifle # 269979 (.30-06) mfg. by Winchester in April 1918 with W 4-18 marked barrel and Remington bolt. Excellent condition with full original blued (not Parkerized) finish on metal. Has a mirror-bore (TE = 2.5, MW = 1.5).
