HANDGUNS

BELGIUM Model GP-35 Browning "Hi-Power" semiautomatic pistol #30652 (9mm) mfg. at Fabrique Nationale  in Belgium after WWII.  EXCELLENT with all-matching numbers and full, original deep bluing, some minor holster-wear at top and edges of slide. Bore is mirror-perfect, all markings are very sharp, and brown wooden grips are nearly flawless. Serial number of barrel is beneath chamber, complete with 13-round magazine.  Unfortunately detailed records from the F.N. factory only go back as far as 1954, when serial numbers are at the 80,000 level.  This pistol may have been made prior to 1950 but there is no way of knowing for certain thus we cannot sell it as a Curio & Relic.  A really gorgeous, non import-marked example.  PHOTOS . . . $375.   not C&R     SOLD

CZECH Model CZ-38 semiautomatic pistol #263687 (.380 ACP) mfg. at Ceska Zbrojovka, Strakonice under Nazi Occupation in 1939 .  Near Excellent with all-matching numbers and some minor holster-wear and scuffing at sharp corners. Bore is mirror-perfect, markings are very sharp, and dark-brown bakelite grips are not chipped. This pistol was assimilated into German inventory as the Pistolen 39 (t) and was reportedly a favorite of the Luftwaffe.  Not import-marked.  PHOTOS . . . $350.   C&R   SOLD

Bore is like now, and it functions perfectly. On of the nicest exaples of one of these I have seen in quite some time. Not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $225.   C&R

GERMANY Model 1896 Broomhandle Mauser semiautomatic pistol #584296 (7.63mm) mfg. at Mauser in c.1923. Totally original, with all-matching numbers, about 60% original bluing and very sharp markings (see PHOTO). Original (well-used) walnut grips, bore pretty bright but almost no rifling remaining (it still functions perfectly and shoots very straight, though). A very good candidate for relining and refinishing.  PHOTOS . . . $375.   C&R   SOLD

JAPAN Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action carbine #85891 (6.5x50) mfg. by Chigusa factory of Nagoya Arsenal in c.1923.  Very Good condition with maybe 60% bluing and totally mismatched parts, mum hacked with small dings, no cleaning rod.  Bore is a bit dark with strong rifling, buttstock and handguard have not been sanded and have most of their original finish.  Likely a "Florida attic" gun as the metal has been rusted and cleaned at one point.  Also the handguard and forestock has been "ridged" by an amateur attempt at removing the handguard and a small V-shaped piece of wood is missing from the seam in the buttstock. Still doubtless a really good shooter.  Not import-marked.  PHOTO . . . $175.   C&R

JAPAN Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action carbine, Series Two #60295 (6.5x50) mfg. by Chigusa factory of Nagoya Arsenal in c.1930.  Very Good condition with 90+% bluing on the top-metal, magazine-floorplate and portion of the triggerguard in the white and pitted from repeated hand-carry. Totally mismatched parts, mum deeply ground, no cleaning rod.  Bore is crusty and dark but with strong rifling, buttstock and handguard have been refinished with BLO but have numerous handling-marks, dings, scratches and gouges from unfriendly handling. The tip of the firing-pin has been cut, so that will need replacing before attempting to shoot this carbine. A good candidate for refinishing (this will be the cheapest Type 38 carbine you will ever see us offer), not import-marked.  PHOTO . . . $140.   C&R

JAPAN Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action carbine, Series Four #13180 (6.5x50) mfg. by Chigusa factory of Nagoya Arsenal in c.1939.  Near excellent condition with better than 95% bluing, matching-bolt and bolt-parts but other parts (mag floorplate, rear-sight) mismatched, mum ground (as usual), no cleaning rod.  Bore is excellent and mirror-like, buttstock and handguard has been nicely refinished with only a couple subsequent handling-marks... still looks damned attractive.  Not import-marked.  PHOTO . . . $275.   C&R

PERU Model 1935 Mauser bolt-action short-rifle #20298 (7.65x53) mfg. by Fabrique Nationale in 1936.   Very Good, with almost 95% bluing (except on barrel-bands). Bore is excellent and mirror-like, Peruvian crest is extremely bold and beautiful.  Bolt is bent, the knob of which is flattened and checkered on the bottom. Totally mismatched numbers (as usual for these), no cleaning-rod.  Nice-looking dark local-wood (mahogany?) stock and handguard with some scrapes, dents and scratches from normal handling through the years.  These scarce rifles have the unusual "backwards" safety (left for safe, right to fire).  PHOTOS . . . $275.   C&R

ROMANIA Model SKS semiautomatic rifle (7.62x39) mfg. by Cugir in the late 1950's.    Close to EXCELLENT condition with near-pristine mirror-bores and all-matching numbers except for wood (some numbers may be force-matched at arsenal).  External metal is 90% or better with little actual wear, bolt-carrier and attached blade bayonet hard-chromed (as is the bore).  Wood may have an arsenal-repaired crack in it but is quite decent with epoxy-like finish.  These function perfectly and are better shooters than any Chinese SKS I have ever fired. No cleaning-rod or other accessories.  PHOTOS . . . $175.  (have several in stock)   C&R

RUSSIA Model 1870 Berdan II bolt-action single-shot rifle # 294 (10.6x57.5R) mfg. by Sestroryetsk Arsenal in 1884.   Near Excellent condition, with 95% thinning blue (some turning to plum) and very strong markings with Czarist eagle atop barrel-shank.  Bolt mismatched as usual for these (# 5651), incorrect cleaning-rod.  Absolutely PERFECT mirror-bright bore (these are usually sewer-pipes). Very cool volley-sight arrangement, with front volley-sight on left side of front barrel-band and rear volley-sight simply being an extension of the rear sight-leaf on the left.  One-piece maple buttstock very nicely refinished long ago with only a few scuffs on it since. Certainly the nicest Berdan II (especially the bore) that I have ever seen). PHOTOS . . . $900.    Antique, no FFL required

Bore is excellent and amazingly mirror-like, Siamese crest is bold, includes cleaning-rod and sliding metal action-cover.  Very lovely two-piece Arisaka-style buttstock and handguard with a few handling-marks but not what one would expect on one of these (they are usually pretty-well beat-up). Includes Model 1907 leather sling.   PHOTOS . . . $375.   C&R      ON HOLD
