ARGENTINE Model 1909 Mauser bolt-action rifle # P3976 and P3977 (7.65x54) mfg. by DWM in 1912. Two CONSECUTIVE UNISSUED rifles is Excellent-PLUS condition, with 99% bluing on all parts (receivers in the white as it should be). National Crest above chamber very bold, all-matching serial numbers (including cleaning rod and buttstock). Bores on each are very strong and mirror-bright. BRITISH SMLE No.1 Mk.III* bolt-action rifle # J1776 (.303 British) mfg. by Enfield in 1918. Near Excellent condition with 90% or better oil-blacked finish (a few rough areas). Bolt handle stamped J1776 to match receiver, forend, rear sight and nose cap also numbered to match. Shows much evidence of Australian service, with arrow in D stamped on both barrel, receiver and right side of buttstock. Walnut stock and handguards has a few minor dings and scrapes but is sound. BRITISH Pattern 14 "Enfield" bolt-action rifle # 710318 (.303 British) mfg. by Eddystone in c.1915. Excellent condition with 95% or better oil-blacked finish. Bore is strong and sorta bright, bottom of not numbered 710318 (matching). CANADIAN Model No.4 Mk.1 Enfield bolt-action rifle # 79L4285 (.303 British) mfg. at Long Branch in 1944, went through Factory Thorough Repair (FTR) at Fazakerly in 1947. Excellent condition, with 98% painted finish (stoving) on external metal. All matching serial numbers on every numbered part (including magazine and forend), has mirror-bright 4-groove bore and 1-marked bolt-head. Stock has very few scrapes and dings from handling. CHINESE Model 56 SKS semiautomatic rifle # 2405034 (7.62x39) a very early Sino-Soviet example with blade bayonet mfg. by Factory 26 in 1956. Very Good or so condition with much external wear to bluing. All numbered parts (including stock) stamped 000058, two uncertain Chinese characters stamped on left side of receiver. Chrome-lined bore is mirror bright and strong. CZECH Model vz23a Mauser bolt-action short-rifle # R2942 (8x57) mfg. by CZ in 1924. Very Good condition with curved factory address atop chamber. The bore is quite strong and quite bright. No matching serial numbers on any numbered part except rear sight, has bent 98k bolt. Missing cleaning-rod, walnut buttstock and handguard have been lightly sanded sometime in the past. FINN Model 28 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 551 (7.62x54R) with undated barrel and double-sling slots. Near Excellent condition with 90% bluing throughout. Bolt knob numbered 551 (matching), right side of barrel-shank stamped S2498, which is one of the Guard districts for Helsinki. Bore is somewhat bright with strong rifling, includes cleaning-rod. Very early one-piece Russian stock has cut-out for metal finger-grip behind triggerguard (a rare feature that was deleted in 1893). GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 9362ah (8x57) mfg. by Brno (code dot) in 1944. Very Good condition, with most original bluing becoming distressed from age (but not pitted or otherwise degraded). No matching serial numbers. All Nazi markings have been defaced (likely indicating Romanian capture). Bore is dark with very prominent rifling. Has laminated stock with one Nazi cartouche (eagle holding swastika above large H) on right side that the Romanians forgot to deface. PHOTO . . . $750. C&R
PERSIAN Model 98/29 rifle # C00759 (8x57) mfg. by Brno in 1931 (1309 Anno Hijera), Excellent-PLUS condition, with all-matching serial numbers. Nearly PERFECT with a mirror-perfect bore, wood is highly polished furniture-grade walnut with some very minor contact-marks. One of the BEST examples we have ever encountered. SPANISH Model FR-8 Mauser bolt-action tactical carbine # FR8-08711 (7.62x51 NATO) mfg. by La Coruņa in 1953. Very Good or better condition, with 80% Parkerized metal surfaces and a sharp mirror-bore. SWEDISH Model 38 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 664303 (6.5x55), mfg. by Husqvarna in 1942 with bent-bolt and unthreaded muzzle. Near Excellent condition, with 80% thinning bluing on all metal parts and little apparent wear. Has very strong markings and a mirror perfect extremely strong bore (disk marked 6.50/2). Bolt numbered 303 (matching), other parts have the Husqvarna "crooked cross" instead of a number (cleaning rod stamped 341), Rear sight is ladder version calibrated from 100 to 600 meters. SWISS Model 1889 Schmidt-Rubin infantry rifle # 181198 (7.5x53.5mm, chambered for the GP90 round) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1894. All-matching serial numbers including 12-round magazine. U.S.A. Model 1898 Krag-Jorgensen bolt-action rifle # 261448 (.30-40 Krag) mfg. by Springfield Armory in May, 1900. Very Good or better condition with full bluing throughout (does NOT appear to have been refinished). Bore is extremely strong and bright . U.S.A. Model 1903 Springfield bolt-action rifle # 1430665 (.30-06) mfg. by Springfield Armory in 1934. Excellent condition with 98% deep bluing on all metal. A very nice example with original bright and strong 05-31 dated SA (Springfield Armory) four-groove barrel. Bore is excellent and mirror-bright (TE = 2.0, MW = 2.0), Nice walnut stock has original finish and only a few minor marks from transportation and storage.
