AUSTRIAN Model 1895 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action stuetzer carbine # 8625C (8x56R) mfg. by Steyr in 1918. Very Good condition, arsenal refinished with most bluing remaining. Bore is really quite nice for these (slightly frosted). Stock has very few handling-marks, but handguard has long crack in top. AUSTRALIAN No.1 Mk.III* bolt-action rifle # A80269 (.303 British) mfg. by Lithgow Arsenal in 1920. Excellent condition with full original bluing remaining and a mirror-bright strong bore. All matching serial numbers, Queensland maple buttstock and handguards were likely professionally refinished long ago and exhibit very few of the usual handling marks. BRITISH Enfield No.1 Mk.III* bolt-action rifle # X9106 (.303 British) mfg. by Enfield in 1915. Very Good condition, with most remaining oil-blacked finish and a rather bright 4-groove bore. Only the rear sight number matches the receiver (bolt mismatched). The top-left side of the receiver has Canadian property-marks (arrow inside of large C). BRITISH Enfield No.1 Mk.III* bolt-action rifle # V4421 (.303 British) mfg. by Enfield in 1916. Very Good condition, with most remaining oil-blacked finish and a rather bright 4-groove bore. Rifle is a bit of a mixmaster, as only the nosecap serial number matches the receiver, and the bolt is from a Thai (Siamese) SMLE. The brass unit-disk has all kinds of numbers stamped on it and it has a windage-adjustable rear sight. Wood has quite a few old knocks and scratches, including some on the left side that appears to be in Thai or Arabic. PHOTOS . . . $300. C&R
CHINESE Type 53 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action carbine # 3238071 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Factory 26 in 1955. Excellent condition with 90% bluing on all metal parts, bore is excellent and mirror bright. CHINESE Type 53 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action carbine # 1353458 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Factory 286 in February 1955. Near Excellent condition with 80% bluing on all metal parts, bore is excellent and mirror bright. Bolt mismatched, other numbered parts matching. buttstock is quite beat but sound, with numerous scrapes in the shellac and many rough handling marks but still better than most of the recent imports we have encountered. CZECH Model vz-2008 Sporter semi auto rifle # 009123 (7.62x39). Features a milled receiver, folding skeletal stock, Bakelite pistol grip and forearm, and a slant cut muzzle brake. Has many innovative features that distinguish it from a standard Kalishnikov, such as non-rotating bolt, short stroke gas piston, and different hammer system. Comes with 5 (five) 30 round magazines, leather 4 magazine pouch and bayonet with leather scabbard. FINN Model 39 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 300946 (7.62x54R), with barrel-shank mfg. by Sako in 1967 on an 1897-dated Sestroryetsk receiver. Essentially UNISSUED, with 100% bluing (somewhat plum-colored on barrel) and a perfect mirror-bore. Matching bolt-knob, new-looking postwar wood with very few handling-marks from transit & storage. FRENCH Model 1886 M93 Lebel bolt-action infantry rifle # BC24591 (8x50R Lebel) mfg. by Châtellerault in 1893. Very Good or better condition with near-perfect mirror-bore (N-marked barrel). Metal has mostly full oil-blacked finish on major components, front of barrel a bit crusty from age. ALL-MATCHING serial numbers (bolt has been re-numbered to match). Triggerguard and rear barrel-band a bit rusty. Missing front barrel-band and stock has some areas of distress and minor losses but is sound (if a bit beat up after 123 years). FRENCH Model 1886 R35 Lebel bolt-action cartridge carbine # CR46719 (8x50R) mfg. by Tulle before 1890, with 1939 dated Châtellerault replacement barrel (with N-marked chamber). Excellent condition, full remaining bluing on metal parts. All matching serial numbers. Now for the caveat: The original; stock shattered upon firing (common for these to be at least cracked from recoil). A newly made (and beautiful) forend and buttstock was procured after a time asnd fitted to this carbine, but in the interim the small parts (barrel bands, buttplate, and mounting bolts have gone AWOL. GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 512 (8x57) mfg. by Sauer & Son (code S/147) in 1936. A mismatched rifle in Very Good condition, with 85+% bluing and intact Nazi markings (Weimar eagles with folded wings) on left side of receiver and barrel-shank, three on right side of receiver. The bore is near excellent and mostly-bright. Buttstock is laminated with flat buttplate and visible cartouches on right side. Extremely attractive, not a Russian-capture and not import-marked. INDIAN Model SMLE .410 musket # M9556, Originally a No.1 Mk.III* rifle mfg. by Enfield in 1917 and converted to single-shot 2 1/2" chamber .410 shotgun by Rifle Factory Ishapore in 1930. Near Excellent condition, with most remaining bluing intact, all numbered parts matching (nose-cap restamped to match) and some dings and handling marks in stock (letters and numbers carved on right side). JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action short rifle Series 5, # 46561 (7.7x58) mfg. at Nagoya in mid 1943. Excellent condition with all-matching serial numbers and nearly full original bluing and bright and strong chrome-lined bore. Intact mum with intact (matching) dust cover, cleaning rod and monopod. Excellent condition with cast iron receiver and full original painted metal with all early features, No matching serial numbers, has plum-shaped bolt and knurled safety. SIAMESE Model 1903 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 20275 (8x52R Siamese), mfg. by Koishikawa Arsenal in 1903 with straight-bolt. Very Good condition, with 75% or better original bluing on all parts (buttplate rusty). Includes sliding action-cover but no cleaning rod. Bore is very bright with strong rifling. SOVIET Model 91/30 ex-PU sniper Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # HA844 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Tula in 1943 on a high-wall receiver. A arsenal refurbished sniper rifle reconfigured to infantry standard by having the mounts removed, the mount holes filled in, and the bent sniper bolts replaced with standard rifle bolts. Excellent arsenal-refurbished condition with 95% or better bluing on all metal parts. All matching numbers (without prefix letters) on all numbered parts. SPANISH Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action cavalry carbine # 231 (7mm), mfg. by Ludwig Loewe in 1895 with bent-bolt and Mannlicher-type stock. Very Good condition, with 75% bluing on metal and a mirror-bright bore. This is not a military carbine, but a commercial product with a Lyman receiver peep sight. All-matching serial numbers, bottom of magazine floorplate has large ornate silvered WSM initials in triangle, and small brass plate behind triggerguard inscriber Captain W. S. Mapes / U. S. Army. SPANISH Model 1916 Mauser bolt-action short-rifle # N1740 (7mm), mfg. by Oviedo in c.1920 with bent-bolt. Only Good or so condition, with metal surfaces thickly painted with black enamel. No matching serial numbers, has a mostly bright bore. Stock looks as if it was once also painted black and was lightly sanded and has a thin crack behind tang. SWEDISH Model 96 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 77786 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1900 with straight bolt and unthreaded muzzle. Good condition, with very faded bluing but a very bright & strong bore (disk marked 6.51/3). All matching numbers except barrel bands (unnumbered cleaning rod). SWEDISH Model 96B Mauser bolt-action rifle # 80249 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1900 with bent-down bolt handle and threaded muzzle. Near Excellent condition, with nearly full bluing and an excellent bore (disk marked 6.49/1). Bolt, all bolt parts, and buttplate matching receiver. . . remainder of parts mismatched. rear sight has Västerås insert with range-wheel calibrated from 100-600 meters, muzzle-threads protected by muzzle-break. U.S.A. Model 1903 Springfield bolt-action rifle # 3365184 (.30-06) mfg. by Remington in December 1942. Very Good condition with 80% or better gray Parkerizing on all metal. A decent example with mirror-like RA 12-42 dated 4-groove bore (1.0 MW, 2.0 TE). Walnut stock has a couple dings and scratches with AAP (Augusta Arsenal) stamped on left side and a somewhat chewed-up 2" x 2" area on the left side by the buttplate.
