AUSTRALIAN SMLE No.1 Mk.III* bolt-action rifle # 57359 (.303 British) mfg. by Lithgow in 1916 with Shield logo.  Very Good or better condition with 80% or better oil-blacked finish. Bolt handle stamped 57359 to match receiver, no other numbered part matches.  Barrel appears to be the original and has a surprisingly bright and strong bore. Walnut stock and handguards has a few minor dings and scrapes but is sound, date 5/44 stamped on right side, unit disk stamped SUR.    Not import marked.   PHOTOS . . . $750.    C&R     SOLD

BRITISH SMLE No.1*** bolt-action rifle # G1964 (.303 British) mfg. by London Small Arms Co. in 1906 with many early features such as rotating charger guide, windage adjustable rear sight and intact front volley sight. Very Good or so condition with fading oil-blacked finish. Many previous serial numbers are crossed-through on receiver, nose cap stamped G1964, no other numbered part matches anything. Has been wire-wrapped for grenade launching (fastened by tacks and screws, something I had never seen before), bore is quite nice and strong. Walnut stock and handguards are quite beat up, faint markings on right side, repair to heel.  Not import marked, very unusual item.   PHOTOS . . . $875.    C&R    

BRITISH SMLE No.1 Mk.III* bolt-action rifle # I20968 (.303 British) mfg. by British Small Arms Co, in 1918.  Near Excellent condition with 90% or better oil-blacked finish.  Has mirror bright and strong bore. Bolt handle, windage-adjustable rear sight leaf, nose-cap and bottom of forend stamped I20968 to match receiver. Top of barrel-flat stamped with eagle surrounded by ÖSTERR GENDARMIE (Austrian police).  Walnut stock and handguards has a few minor dings and scrapes but is sound, U.S. silver quarter pressed in unit-disk hole.  Not import marked.   PHOTOS . . . $925.    C&R    

BRITISH Model No.4 Mk.1 Enfield bolt-action rifle # B2836 (.303 British) mfg. by Fazerkely and underwent Factory Thorough Repair (FTR) in 1954 (markings very faint).  Excellent condition, with full enameled surfaces and an excellent mirror-bright 4-groove bore.  Bolt and forend of stock stamped B2836 (matching).  Has 1-marked bolt-head, rear sight is the milled ladder type. CANADIAN Model No.4 Mk.1* Enfield bolt-action rifle # 4L7347 (.303 British) mfg. at Long Branch in 1942. Near Excellent condition, with 90% painted finish (stoving) on external metal (some chipping on edges of magazine).  Bolt, magazine and forend numbered 4L4347 (matching). Has mirror-bright two groove bore and 2-marked bolt-head. Rear sight is of the stamped ladder type. CANADIAN Model CNo.4 Mk.1* Enfield bolt-action rifle # 93L1211 (.303 British) mfg. at Long Branch in 1950. Excellent condition, with 95% painted finish (stoving) on external metal.  Bolt numbered 93L1211 (matching), magazine numbered 931211 (matching), forend not numbered. Has mirror-bright 4-groove bore and 0-marked bolt-head. Rear sight is of the stamped ladder type. Stock has some minor scrapes and dings from handling (one large ding on bottom of forend). CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # A4554 (7x57) mfg. by Loewe in 1895.  Excellent condition, with 95% original deep bluing and all-matching serial numbers (including cleaning-rod) with weakly struck Chilean crest above chamber.  Strong, extremely shiny bore, walnut stock has a few scuffs and handling-marks but original finish and has not been sanded.   PHOTOS . . . $650.*    Antique, no FFL required     SOLD

CZECH Model vz24 Mauser bolt-action short-rifle # 2800G1 (8x57) mfg. by CZ in 1926.  Very Good condition with 50% fading blue and 3-line factory address atop chamber. The bore is quite strong but not very bright.  Matching straight bolt, triggerguard stamped 2800 (matching), magazine floorplate stamped 00 (matching), front band stamped 2800 (matching), rear band only numbered part not matching. Includes cleaning-rod and mismatched (South American) muzzle-cap.  Buttstock and handguard have some dings and handling-marks, unit disk stamped 43P / 6318. COLOMBIAN Model 1950 Mauser bolt-action short-rifle # F.23057 (.30-06) refurbished . by R. FAMAGE in 1952.  Very Good overall condition with 85% blued finish (some verdigris) on all metal parts. Matching bolt (23057), no other parts numbered. Very strong mirror-bright bore, with much bolder than usual Colombian crest above chamber. FINN Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 1039395 (7.62x54R) mfg. by New England Westinghouse in 1915 with very faint straight logo and [SA] Finn property-mark on top of barrel-shank. Excellent refurbished condition with full bluing on metal, manufacture's markings very faint but legible. Bore is mirror bright and has very strong rifling, has NOT been counterbored at muzzle. Bolt body stamped 30794 (NOT matching), remaining numbered parts scrubbed (as usual). Includes cleaning-rod and metal sling swivels with green leather M39 sling.  One-piece stock has some of the expected dings and handling marks but is sound. Includes non-matching Model 1891 spike bayonet and Finn scabbard with brown leather belt hanger. FINN Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 601473 (7.62x54R) mfg. by New England Westinghouse in 1915 with bold straight logo and [SA] Finn property-mark on left side of barrel-shank. Very Good or better condition with nearly full bluing on metal turning brown. Bore is mostly bright and has very strong rifling, has NOT been counterbored at muzzle. Bolt body stamped 601473 (matching), remaining numbered parts scrubbed (as usual). Includes cleaning-rod and non-matching Model 1891 spike bayonet and Finn scabbard with brown leather belt hanger. FRENCH Model 1949-56 MAS semiautomatic rifle # H16681 (7.5x54) manufactured at St. Etienne in 1968. Excellent condition, with full Parkerizing. Has great mirror-bright bore. Includes one ten-round magazine and slip-on rubber buttpad, no other accessories. Wood stock has a few very minor handling marks on both sides. GERMAN Gewehr 88/05 Commission bolt-action rifle # 52r (8x57JS) mfg. by Spandau in 1890. Excellent condition, possibly a refurb with full bluing and retaining its metal barrel-jacket, magazine altered in 1905 to utilize regular stripper-clip loading. No matching numbers (as usual).  Receiver S-marked, bore is mirror-bright. Beech stock has no finish and is a little scuffed-up but sound.  Rear sight has Western numerals. Completely functional, I would not hesitate to shoot this (however I DO NOT recommend any firing military ammo in it, only modern U.S.-manufactured commercial loads in it rather than milsurp ammo). GERMAN Gewehr 88/05 Commission bolt-action rifle # 3411z (8x57JS) mfg. by Amberg in 1890. Very Good condition, a Turkish refurb with full bluing and retaining its metal barrel-jacket, magazine altered in 1905 to utilize regular stripper-clip loading. No matching numbers (as usual), has been renumbered on top of receiver, Arabic numerals on bolt. Beech stock has no finish and is a little scuffed-up but sound with legible German cartouches on right side, missing rear sling swivel.  Rear sight has Western numerals. HUNGARIAN Model 1895 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action cavalry carbine (Lovassági Karabély M.95) # 4177H (8x50R) mfg. by Femaru Fegever (FÉG) and accepted for service at Vienna in 1899.   Very Good or so condition, with fading bluing. bore is very strong with some brightness, BUDAPEST stamped atop receiver.  Missing rear sight slider. Stock has quite a few handling-marks and is stamped 4177H on right side (matching).  These extremely rare cavalry carbines were only produced from 1897 to 1913 and differ from the Stutzen due to no bayonet lug or stacking hook, and have sling swivels on the left side only. HUNGARIAN Model 1895 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action short rifle # 4911E (8x56R) mfg. by Femaru Fegever (FÉG) and accepted for service at Budapest in 1937.   Excellent-PLUS condition, arsenal refinished with 98% or better bluing. Bolt electropenciled 4911, bore is very strong and extremely bright, BUDAPEST stamped atop receiver. Stock has very lovely figure and a few scuffs.  PHOTOS . . . $625.     C&R     

RUSSIAN Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 133543 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Tula in 1915 with Peter The Great legend.  Near Excellent condition with 90% or better remaining bluing, bore is strong but not too bright, has NOT been counterbored at muzzle. Top of bolt body stamped 3543 (matching), buttplate stamped 133543 (matching), magazine floorplate (the only other numbered part) is scrubbed.  Includes cleaning-rod and correct (but mismatched) Model 1891 spike bayonet. SWISS Model K31 Schmidt-Rubin short rifle # 230462 (7.5x55mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1954. All-matching serial numbers (including magazine).  Very Good condition with 60% or better thinning bluing and a bright and strong bore. Wood is walnut with usual dings, scrapes and handling marks in the finish. IX 44 stamped beneath buttplate with soldier's tag.   PHOTO  . . . $725.      C&R  

TURKISH Model Gewehr 1893 bolt-action rifle # 13097  (8x57mm) mfg. by Mauser in 1893/4 (1312 A.H.) and refurbished at Ankara in 1935.  Very Good or so condition, upper metal has full bluing, wear to triggerguard, magazine floorplate and barrel bands due to being handled with sweaty hands. Tangent rear sight has Western numerals, no matching seroal numbers (except for rear sight) as usual. Strong and sorta bright bore.  Buttstock has crack behind tang. Includes cleaning-rod. TURKISH Model 38 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # 217394 (8x57) rearsenaled by K. Kale (Ankara) arsenal in 1945, a large-ring Mauser with straight bolt.  Excellent condition, with all bluing remaining on all external metal. No matching serial numbers (as usual),  Bore is mostly bright and strong, completely functional, includes cleaning-rod.  Stock is beech with very few of the expected handling marks and an attractive glossy finish, really interesting repair at tang.  PHOTOS . . . $525.*       C&R       SOLD

U.S.A. Model 1903 Springfield bolt-action rifle # 588603 (.30-06) mfg. by Springfield Armory in 1916.   Excellent condition with 98% deep bluing on all metal. A very nice example with bright and strong 03-39 dated SA (Springfield Armory) four-groove replacement barrel.  Bore is excellent and mirror-bright (TE = 3.0, MW = 1.5), Nice walnut stock has original finish and quite a few handling marks from transportation and storage, post WWII C-S.A.A. U.S.A. Model 03-A3 Springfield bolt-action rifle # 4738872 (.30-06), receiver mfg. by Smith-Corona in June 1943 with SC 6-43 barrel.  Excellent condition with 90% Parkerizing on all metal. Bore is mirror-bright and very strong (gauges TE = 1.5, MW = 1.5) with 6-groove rifling. Walnut stock has quite a few handling marks, FJA and ordnance cartouche on left side..
