GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 1441 (8x57) mfg. by Erma (code S/42G) in 1935. An early non-import marked 98k in Very Good or better condition with some renumbered (to match) parts. The triggerguard and magazine have original serial numbers 1441, but in my opinion the bolt (and all bolt parts, both barrel-bands and bottom of buttstock) have been force-matched by someone without much skill. Bore is close to excellent, and the walnut buttstock (with some lovely tigerstriped figure) has very clear Nazi cartouches (which is not correct for a rifle made in 1935). Not import-marked, I wish they would have left it alone, as it was & is a rather rare code. PHOTO . . . $975. C&R
