DOMINICAN REPUBLIC Model 1953 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # 88600 (7x57mm), mfg. in 1960. Excellent-PLUS condition, with 98% or better bluing on all metal parts and very little apparent wear. Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore. Matching bolt (no other parts are numbered on these), walnut stock & handguard has very few minor contact marks & compressions from adjacent rifles. Not import-marked, very scarce in original 7mm (most were later rechambered to .30-06) and rare so nice. PHOTOS . . . $1250. C&R
FINN Model 38 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action short rifle # N9309 (7.35x51 Carcano) mfg. by Terni in 1939 with [SA] Finn marking on left side of barrel-shank and PO 1897 on top (a recycled 6.5 barrel rebored to 7.35mm). Excellent condition with 95% original bluing. Bore is mirror-bright and quite strong. Stock has been refinished with few handling-marks since. GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 6894b (8x57mm) mfg. by Steyr-Daimler-Puch (code bnz) in 1943. This rifle looks fantastic, an all-matching rifle in Excellent-PLUS condition. Or is it? This is actually a Russian reworked rifle that has been expertly restored by James River Armory, with all metal parts refinished and renumbered to match the receiver. Bore is quite bright and strong, all Nazi eagles with swastikas intact on barrel and receiver (and have NOT been restored). There is a reproduction Army cartouche on the right side of the laminated stock with cupped buttplate.
